Hog’s feet coated with lard, (sort of to serve as wadding) to help contain the energy and fired from a potato cannon. On a somewhat cold day should work pretty good.

Are hairspray powered cannons allowed in NYC?

Yeah, the New York City Landmarks Preservation Committee voted 9-0 against granting landmark status to the building they want to turn into a mosque, clearing the way. Liberal idiots, who will be the death of us all yet. Along with a stuck-on-stoopid liberal mayor masquerading as a Republican, hahahah. Probably a bunch of veddy rich left wing old bags sit on this committee, and they wouldn’t want to step on anyone’s toes, now would they? Except for the 3,000+ families who lost loved ones.

I personally witnessed the 2nd tower on fire, and its collapse, from a window in my workplace. It’s not something one can ever forget—or forgive.

Perhaps those 2 towers won’t be the only buildings to be blown up, who knows?

so why don’t we let the saudis fund another imam and buy the capitol, white house, pentagon and the lincoln memorial and build mosques there as well??

A willing buyer and willing seller are not the end of the story in most communities that have zoning laws. For instance, most towns will not allow a porn palace to open up next to an elementary school. So most of the time, some thought is given as to whether a new building (or new use of an old building) is appropriate in its proposed site.

Now, if you are a Wild West Libertarian and think that there should be NO zoning anywhere, anytime, that is your privilege. Enjoy the 24/7 truck stop that is built right next to your house.

And the Mayor who keeps running, running, running, well, time for him to run for the door. This whole thing is gone way to far.

It’s a horrible slap in the face to the 911 families. A mosque at this location is extremely cruel to those who were affected the most.

I think a celebratory pig pull is in order here...maybe on 9/11/10....make sure its a big enough affair that Bloomberg is invited ...Obama invited..and turns it down publicly....have the Fire department help run it...

“Who do they think they’re going to get to build the thing?”

LOL! Not the Commodore. I love his baleful look. This is the way to deal with the Mosque. Boycott it. All companies refuse to contract with it. All union workers refuse to build it. All suppliers refuse to supply it. All service industries refuse to service it. Squeeze it of any ability to exist. It’s up to our citizens now to fight this tooth and nail. Not a time for wimps.

It was an enormous mistake to open immigration to Islamic countries. You can thank Ted Kennedy for that. It should be stopped immediately. We do not owe the world a free chance at American citizenship.

You may be shocked by these recent photos from NYC, I was. I received this note and the pictures from a friend yesterday. Here it is:

I did not believe this when I first saw this email...went to Goggle and found actual time tables and maps in NYC where this is done daily!!!! We cannot say prayers in schools, or at football games, etc. and yet we allow the Muslims to drop their prayer rugs in the middle of NYC streets and pray to Allah for hours!!!! This has gone way too far for me. They stop traffic to do this.

This is an accurate picture of every Friday afternoon in several locations throughout NYC where there are mosques with a large number of Muslims that cannot fit into the mosque - They fill the surrounding streets, facing east for a couple of hours between about 2 & 4 p.m. - Besides this one at 42nd St & Madison Ave, there is another, even larger group, at 94th St & 3rd Ave, etc., etc. - Also, I presume, you are aware of the dispute over building another "high rise" Mosque a few blocks from "ground zero" - With regard to that one, the "Imam" refuses to disclose where the $110 million dollars to build it is coming from and there is a lawsuit filed to force disclosure of that information - November can't come soon enough! This is in New York City on Madison Avenue, not in France or the Middle East or Yemen or Kenya.

Is there a message here???? Yes, there is, and they are claiming America for Allah. If we don't wake up soon, we are going to "politically correct" ourselves right out of our own country!

I was truly shocked and sickened when I saw these photos.

I absolutely agree.

But so long as the door is open to immigration, people should either accept the consequences or end immigration.

I don’t understand.

It wasn’t just lower Manhattan that was attacked on September 11, it was all of America.

So why no disallow the building of all mosques anywhere in America while you’re at it?

This is a childish issue, being foisted on us by media mouthpieces, who knew all along there’s no way to stop the mosque from being built, because there’s no law against it, nor can one be made that would be constitutional.

They know it will be built, so they can then say it was the democrats’ fault it was built.

When it’s really the constitution’s “fault” it will be built.

The “immigrants act like immigrants” line seems like something someone deliberately trying to paint conservatives as anti-immigrant would post. How do immigrants behave?

Diversely.

We can limit immigration to whatever countries we desire. We don’t have to accept all immigrants.

There are so many straw men in your post that one hardly knows where to begin. First, as I specified in my post, I said that the such a mosque should be allowed as long as there was a willing seller and buyer AND no contracts were violated. Throughout the United States, there are literally tens of thousands (if not more) private covenants which would prevent a 24/7 truck stop from being built near a house. My own neighborhood (and perhaps yours!?) is a case in point. When I bought my house, I also agreed (quite willingly) to a private contract which mandated that my home remain a single family residence. Of course, that would rule out a mosque or "porn palace" or a truck stop.

The best solution is to extend the role of contract in American society by abolishing the highly politicized, unrepresentative, and arbitrary zoning procress.

Rather than SELECTIVELY trampling on the first amendment and property rights, one possible solution would be to allow the residents of individual city blocks to replace the existing zoning rules with private convenants. This would help ensure that land use to be (in your words) "appropriate" to the proposed site e.g. the wishes of the residents and economics of the area. The rules would be enforced by property owners assocaitions, just like the covenants in my neighborhood.

While this solution is imperfect (namely a minority of individual owners might object) it would remove zoning from the political process and make it subject to market demand and the wishes of the newly created property owners associations. It would allow the residents to exclude a mosque, a Republican party headquarters, or a church.

Now, let's turn to the (your?) alternative of expanding the existing arbitrary power of zoning boards and/or local politicians to decide who can build and who can't. This would only create a precedent for bureaucrats to decide that such building a mission is "inappropriate" to a red light district, of building a pro life is "inappropriate" next to an abortion clinic, or building a Walmart is "inappropriate" to a town. In other words, property rights would no longer have any meaning and all power resides in arbitrary political authority.

Sooooo,,,It would be OK with you if the KKK built something

Since when is supporting the freedom of all Americans considered an endorsement of any particular view? To answer your strangely worded question, it should be equally "OK" under a society dedicated to the rule of law and property rights and religious freedom for ALL Americans, including birthers, Klan members, Greenpeace members, pro and anti-abortionists, backers of Obamacare, etc. have equal rights to be able to buy and sell property as long as no contracts are violated. If you feel that we can selectively prohibit property rights and religious freedom for some, why don't you propose a constitutional amendment to this effect?
