R.I.P. Mitch!
Annnd a-one, annnd a-two.....
Living in Japan, Mitch Miller’s show was a breath of fresh air whenever it aired. We used to sit around and sing with Mitch. His albums were fun also, they had many sheets of music in them and the whole Squadron would sing along. Today, few know the pleasure Mitch gave us. I was mentioning him just last week to 30-40 somethings and they were oblivious to who Mitch was.
We’ve lost a few people from that era in recent weeks: Art Linkletter, Jimmy Dean, now Mitch Miller. I remember all of them from my childhood.
I still have “I’m looking over a four leaf clover” by Mitch on my computer.
I love a good men’s chorus. These were great.

Not the best quality of recording, but you can see the stellar nature of this men’s chorus here.
I’ve got about 40 of his songs on my machine. Always loved Mitch Miller. He was one of my parent’s favorites. I didn’t learn to appreciate him until I was a grownup.
Listening to “River Kwai March” right now.... Everyone sing along with Mitch Miller....
Obama, hes only got one ball.
Biden, has two but theyre real small.
Holder, has one thats moldered.
And Clinton owns two, but theyre out on call.
Wow, Mitch was old when I was young!
R.I.P. One of America’s greatest ever entertainers.
