I have enjoyed looking at the many wedding photos. Thanks for posting them. I was just at my cousin’s wedding last Saturday. She was stunningly beautiful. There was a sadness to the event though, as her daddy, my youngest uncle, passed away from cancer 3 years ago. My cousin who is 23, was escorted down the isle by her brother.

Great thread....thanks, Dolly!
I tried to find a picture of my ancestors' WH wedding - John and Julia Tyler, but since cameras weren't real big back then, there weren't any. :)

If I remember correctly, the bridegroom standing on Alice Roosevelt’s right is Nicholas Longworth, Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives, for whom the Longworth House Office Bldg. was named.

Susan Ford’s dress is horendous.
She looks like something from ‘Tales of the Crypt’.

Thanks for posting.... much variety! I am interested in Amy Carter’s two husbands..... I may poke around on the internet and see what I can learn about her history...(bless her heart - all the Southern ladies will know what I mean by that!)

Amy Carter is actually a pretty decent sort. None of us can help who our parents are . . . .
She has made her own life for herself here and lives in a very low-key fashion, probably most people she meets have no idea who she is. Of course having a married name helps.
I was in the lane next to her at W. Peachtree and 14th a few years ago. Saw her, recognized her, gave a little wave and a nod, she nodded back.

Sorry, had to pull that pic because of a Corbis complaint.
Reference.

She looks happy. She looks a bit like the actress Sissy Spacek in that picture.

My husband said it looks like he has a crustacean or spider on his lapel. I think it looks like a baby octopus.
