Fremont police arrested a 17 year old girl Thursday afternoon and charged her with a brutal double homicide that happened back on Mother's Day.
Police had one suspect in custody since the killings, but arrested their second suspect Thursday as she arrived at a job interview. They initially had her in custody, but released her after questioning.
Police say the girl, who they are not naming, and her companion, 21-year-old Isaiah Washington, killed Rafael Avila and Carlos Buenrostro (pictured) on May 9, 2010. Witnesses said Avila and Buenrostro, both 18 years old, were robbed as they got out of their car on Westpark Street. Police say the two victims were ordered on the ground and then had their pockets and car searched for things to steal.
Police say for no apparent reason the suspects opened fire on both men before driving off. Police said both worked together in firing shots from an assault rifle into the two defenseless men laying on the ground.
Police who responded to the shootings, saw their getaway car and chased them through the streets of Oakland. Police say they abandoned that car, but police were able to find both of them that night after combing the area where their car was abandoned.
Two and a half months later, police say they have the evidence they need to charge both Washington and the girl with murder. They say the 17-year-old is being charged as an adult.

Methinks there is more to this story than is being reported. I am smell a strong whiff of “payback” in the way the girls blew these gentlemen away.

I’m not saying you’re wrong, but I still think there is more to it than just robbery, even with the racial motive black vs. Hispanic added in.

There are no aboslutes. No values. No principles to struggle with. Everyone is supposed to LOVE and RESPECT each other. My, this is a puzzle to me. ;)

She and Isaiah Washington, a 21-year-old Oakland resident, are linked to the deaths of Rafael Avila and Carlos Buenrostro, both 18 and from Hayward, who were shot numerous times in the back as they lie on the ground after being robbed.
It appears that the suspects had been driving around looking for people to rob when they spotted the victims on the 21600 block of Westpark Street, near A Street and Hesperian Boulevard in Hayward, Hayward Capt. Darryl McAllister said.
He said police believe the two victims were ordered to the ground, and after their car and pockets were searched for valuables, they were shot for no apparent reason.
“There is no sign of any provocation or resistance from the
victims,” McAllister said.
He added that it appears both suspects wielded the weapon, either jointly or passing it back and forth.
“We can put the gun in the hands of both of them,” McAllister said. “We believe she is an actual shooter and he was helping to orchestrate, if not holding it himself. We believe both are responsible.”
There initially wasn’t enough evidence to hold the girl, but McAllister said after a “hell of a lot of investigation,” they collected forensic evidence to make a case to the Alameda County District Attorney’s Office.
Homicide charges have been added to Washington’s case, and he is scheduled to be in court Thursday.

Something totally not connected to this, I have heard that there is some women using a ploy to stand out on the highway with gas cans and trying to get a ride, and they are then panhandling for gas money...all day long.
I saw one women doing this on the same stretch of road for two straight days, same gas can.
