He’s so cute! We had a black medium sized dachshund when I was growing up. Littlebit.

People who drive with these little dogs on their lap or with fido hanging his head out the driver’s window are worse then people who text while ‘driving’.

Right now some lawyer is trying desperately to figure out who he can sue. Maybe he’ll sue the car manufacturer because they didn’t make the gas pedal immune to interference by dog.

As long as the pup wasn’t between her feet and the brake, I don’t see why this should cause a crash.

Oh, how we miss our Dachsies. We lost our girls last year - one was 16 and one was 17. We’re trolling rescue sites to try to find a new dachshund or two.
They’re not the easiest to own, but the good ones seldom are...in any species...

Easy. The driver. Pretty clear case. Driving a car with an un-restrained animal (especially in your lap)is dumb. It can cause an accident (like this) or, in the event of an accident the animal you care about can get hurt or hurt YOU as it flies around the cabin. I drive with a St. Bernard and 103lb lab. Both are buckled in in the back seat for my safety and theirs.

We’re on our third. The first was just amazing. A standard male. He wasn’t fixed and used to bring his dates home, usually a German shepherd or other large breed. Our next one was in ill health all his life. We were settled down with our old cattle dog when last summer a distant relative died and we inherited a five year old black and tan and we renamed him Biscuit, neutered him and chipped him within one week. I can’t imagine life without him now.

Did you mean between the brake pedal and the floorboard? This is what would scare the dickens out of me.
