You still have not proven your point.

What WAS my point again?

I also think its dumb to do the same with Mormons.

Don't need to; as MORMONism manages to take itself down: relative to the BIBLE.

Btw, Else has still not refuted any of the points made earlier.

You keep saying this - do you have a SPECIFIC one you'd like addressed?

The foundation of the religion has no bearing on whether you act hypocritically. Enjoy your Phelps gang.

If you dont need to “take down Mormons,” then why are you always posting threads about them. Wouldnt they just fall on their own?

If thats the case, why do you even care?

Yes, you said people were and will attack your religion. I said that hasnt and wouldnt happen, then you changed your argument, because you couldnt prove your point.

You cant find a post on this board that attacks your religion.

I thought it was pretty good.

Maybe you should get a grip, though. Mormons arent gonna come get ya in the middle of the night and make you drink dog blood. Maybe if you had the ability to be happy throughout the day, you wouldnt focus so much energy on trying to take down a religion that can do you no harm.

You misunderstand what I said. I think it is dumb to try using every Christian’s sin to take down Christianity.

You still don't understand: In Mormonism, per Lds "prophet" Spencer W. Kimball, if you repeat the same sin, then you NEVER repented to begin with. [Source: Kimball book, The Miracle of Forgiveness...Think of the game Chutes & Ladders, Sam...where a false landing takes you back to "Ground Zero"]

By contrast, in Christianity...sin is covered by grace and Christ's substitutionary righteousness...vs. Mormorism's sin & crimes -- which just shows they're @ Ground Zero (by their own theology; not by any headlines anybody posts).

The Great Physicians makes house calls in Christianity. He heals those down & out due to their sin. (That's why you have all kinds of Christian ministries in places of incarceration, Sam...in Mormonism, they've haven't found a way to put temples adjacent to those correctional facilities)...

In Mormonism, such ill behavior just equates to that individual Mormon taking down his own house (we don't have to "take down" anything)

That people were attacking your religion, which they werent.

1. There are many religions in the world, and most are called CULTS by the ones who are NOT part of that religion.

2. panaxanax  likes to use the word, CULT, a lot.

3. THERFORE, he(?) must consider us ANTI-MORMONism folks to be a RELIGION, though false.

4. ERGO; P has ATTACKED our religion.

(And the MIND-READING and motive affixing shown in #163 is just WONDERFUL!)

I see where she’s advising her underling cult members to stop responding to my posts. Guess they’re not listening to their guru?

They (Mormon-Haters, Inc.) claim that we engage in personal attacks when that is the mission statement of their cult.

You were born about 150 years too late. I'm sure you and your cult would have raced to Nauvoo, IL to join in the ‘fun’ of burning good folks out of their homes, killing their babies, livestock and other outright treacherous acts against innocent people.

If you dont need to “take down Mormons,” then why are you always posting threads about them.

The BIBLE gives CLEAR instructions as regarding false teachings and false Christs.

We ANTI-Mormonismists are doing what the MORMONs do NOT want us to do: expose the things they want hidden until the 'convert' is more firmly latched onto.

Szonian can help you understand a bit; and the OTHER ex-MORMONs who are in these threads as well.

True; it can't harm US; for we KNOW about it - but it DAMN sure can harm other people!

Christianity KNOWS that MORMONism is harmful to a persons soul.

We are merely warning others what they might get into; not knowing ALL of the things about it.

I had to go back a ways, but found why I think RS has his knickers in a knot over the mormonISM posts. Thinks it’s impeding a mormon’s freedom of religion. (RS, correct me if I’m wrong, but I can find the post you made back in June to provide the source of my comment.)

Doesn’t seem to mind impeding other’s freedom of speech though because it can be deemed “offensive” to a mormon or a knight in shining armor riding to save the damsel (mormonISM) in distress.

There are many reasons to post the truths and expose the hidden doctrines and tenets of mormonISM, too many to list here, but I’ll offer a few that I think are important.

First, the posts and threads become search engine fodder. Folks searching for things on the web will get these as results and can peruse the information presented to provide balance to the “official” LdS information they would find on a LdS site.

Second, lurkers. There are probably a few folks here on FR who may be struggling with mormonISM and posting materials and life experiences may help them make a decision to leave the LdS. By offering up the information in a different context, it may prompt a person to re-evaluate their perception of said information.

Thirdly, mormonISM is a lie. Perpetrators (whether cognizant or not) of the lie will do whatever they can to convince people to join. Mormon missionaries number in the 10’s of thousands, yet, a couple of folks posting on the interweb are a cause for flame wars. Quite a dichotomy. Do you protest to SLC about the missionaries tracting in neighborhoods telling unsuspecting folks that they’re going to hell if they don’t join the LdS pogrom?

Of course, understanding these concepts is contigent upon one being willing to grant the “opposing” party equal consideration and attempting to comprehend their POV.

Which, unfortunately or maybe fortunately, depending on one’s POV, doesn’t happen very often.

Btw, there are a couple of us on FR who have abandoned mormonISM because of the persistent efforts of tenacious FReepers despite the personal invectives and aspersions cast in their direction.

I am in their debt.

How many others who may have left mormonISM without saying so is impossible to say. But, as in all things requiring faith, it is hoped that many have.

The basic premise that many are missing regarding the perpetrator in the article is this; he was taught that he was in a position of authority over this woman. That he abused that authority is not in question.

But, one can make a logical conclusion that teaching an unstable or potentially abusive individual that they’re in a position of authority over someone, may be the catalyst they need for acting upon their desires. The flip side of this, is the women are taught that men wield priesthood authority over them and they are to subject themselves to that authority. This makes the women vulnerable to abuse.

It is the topic...you just won't concede the "mountain" of differences between Mormonism & Christianity.

When a Christian brother is caught in sin, the "goal" is restoration (Gal. 6:1), not as you framed it -- a "takedown." And Paul also reminds there to watch it ourselves, lest we, too, fall. We know that if we've escaped sin, there's nothing to "boast" about there (Eph. 2:8-9) in Him saving us. We know that we can't take pride in our own accomplishments: Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall. (Prov. 16:18)

Now why doesn't this work very easily in Mormonism?
(1) Because we're not simply talking about a single sin: The Mormon "prophet" has declared that if you repeat a sin you've repented of before, you weren't genuine in your repentence to begin with...therefore your "religious" life has been a sham all along. The sin, per Mormonism, just reveals sham religiosity.
(2) When Scripture says "be perfect" (Matt. 5:48), they expect that's what it means to be part of godhood. They expect to be perfect. And Kimball the "prophet" has said that Mormon men can pick themselves up by their own bootstraps.

Hence, Mormons have erected a tremendously sky high Tower of Babel of righteousness. They are building their own way to heaven via their own self-righteousness. Therefore, when Mormonism displays a track record pretty much "on keel" with the world criminal behavior wise, it shows cracks in the Tower of Babel self-righteousness foundation. They are not the gods-in-embryo they pretend to be.

youre jump from 2 to 3 is a massive lack in logic, therefore the rest of your point is meaningless.

I think the A&M Aggies are a cult, but I definitely dont think they are a religion. I think Manchester soccer fans are a cult, but they are definitely not a religion.

You fail!
