Harley cases have their limitations. But they can be strengthened via welding. But I’m not even sure it was the case that broke. They said “motor mount”. I’m assuming a rubber grommet gave out. They are rubber mounted nowdays.

no, they meant the case itself. he said that they have not been able to get a harley case to survive their tests.
it’s crazy, they are still using some of harley’s parts in their engines.

True that. The rubber grommets on the front motor mounts give out early. Shops are replacing them with an after-market mount that is more rigid but increases the shake factor somewhat.
I had the mount replaced on my ‘03 Road King at 25k miles. The bike turned into a bone-rattler at standing idle but that beats chafing harnesses and hoses IMO.
