Silver Queen is FTW.

Ran into Hunterdon County, NJ freeholder/farmer George Melick this morning as he was making a produce delivery at the local grocery store... he stated he had 25 guys picking corn this morning.

Bought some in Bulverde, TX (near San Antonio) a month ago. 10 ears for $1. It was really good.

Nothing beats corn on the cob, but has anyone here had corn chowder?

I know an ol gal that makes that and I always make her blush when I eat it.

I give it high praises, and she gets all wooshy LoL

I think the only other garden crop that brings that level of intensity is the Tomato.

We build entire cuisines around the tomato

Reminds me of those great crops of silver queen corn down in south Mississippi.

A couple I knew had lots of land and grew lots of vegetables. Delicious! They had their own market stand at the house. I lived several years there down the road from them and bought much every summer.

Just had some last weekend from Sweet Corn Charlie in Syracuse, IN.

On the trip back to Indy, saw lots of signs along the road advising sweet corn.

Perhaps you should get out of the city.

Ah, not in the corn land. Got it.

Well, after us corn folk pick over the good stuff, we export the rest. Might take a spell to get down your way. :-/

Kroger has Olathe Sweet Corn from CO this week at 8/$2. Not the best of prices but good corn.
