Where is all the damn sweetcorn?
I have seen precious little in the market and its like 50c an ear field corn.
Where's the crop?!! I am seriously jonesing

Wow. What a great story. I loved farm life. I live for about four years with a foster family that grew tomatoes about six acres and had about a hundred acres of lemons and oranges. They were idiots but the farm life was good.

WE have plenty of it here in Ohio. This week Kroger has it again for .15¢ an ear probably going to buy a lot and freeze some.

No sweeet corn is not used for ethanol- a specific corn is grown for that, and here farmers sell it to the plant, they in turn return the mash to the farmer who uses it for cattle feed.
And here in Nebraska we have plenty of sweet corn at the farmer’s market stands/gardens. And yes one can eat field corn for corn on the cob if picked at the right time. That was all we had when I was growing up. We canned it as well as ate it for corn on the cob and it is very good- IF picked at the right time.
