Can we still make fun of Microsoft OS?

It was a huge investment for a newly married SSgt but it was worth it. Took me 4 hours to setup and type the first Officer Effectiveness Report, but I made that back the first of the 4 times that OER had to be retyped because some Lt Col or Col wanted it redone to change some word or other.
Besides, I never had to stand another inspection. The inspectors would just sit, ask questions and watch me work. They thought I was a magician.

But I was thinking about buggy whips.I always wondered why someone would whip a buggy. I mean, it's not like it can feel anything. You'd get much better results whipping the horse, though that can backfire as well.

So you invented the ‘1’ just like Al Gore invented the Internet in order to make it work. Right?

I also invented the question mark, and I accuse chestnuts of being lazy.

My box of cards went flying into the slush. I spent the next couple hours in the lab bathroom under the hand dryers. It felt like the end of the world.Lucky for me, the next semester (1984), we had access to Apple II's with cool 3 1/4 floppy disks!

Back in my day, we coded with 0s and 1s, and sometimes we didnt even have the 1s.

I'm with you on that. Valid technical and feature discussions are useful. Flame wars are not. I've been around online forums since the days of FIDOnet and 300 baud Hayes external modems, and later Usenet. I've never seen a useful flame war, never seen anyone win one.
I'm an un-abashed Linux fan. But I've been known to say nice things about Windows 7 (Yes, I bought a retail copy and installed it along side Ubuntu), and I have an iPod touch.
In the end, it comes down to this: use the right tool for the job. We all have to realize what we consider the right tool for a particular job may not be the right tool when evaluated by someone else's criteria and priorities.
