The battle of the sexes is sizzling this summer. My wife can grill when she pries the tongs from my cold, dead fingers.
To: Non-Sequitur
The right to keep and bear tongs belongs to men only!

BBQ ping. OK, so it’s grilling, not bbq, and it’s NYC. But still, ping!

The great thing about being a woman in the male-dominated world of grilling is that in the end, its all about the food, not about fire-building or pounding my fist on my chest, "Oh, and by the way, I'm a feminist who hates men."

Yo, Liz. You cannot, I repeat, cannot, BBQ on a gas grill.
Stupid Yankees, you BBQ on one of these:

First, she can use my grill anytime.
"The great thing about being a woman in the male-dominated world of grilling is that in the end, its all about the food...
Well, really, it is about the food, the cold beer that just seems to go naturally with grilling, and not heating up the house when it is 90+ outside.
What's for dinner? Charred animal flesh. Sorry PETA and vegans... I'm a omnivore at the top of the food chain and proud of it.

Actually charcoal is for Haitians and other backyard novices.
For flavor, you use hardwood to smoke meats, like Hickory or Apple. How you get and keep the cooking food hot is of no consequence.
If you smoke a good steak, or grill it on charcoal, you might as well feed it to the dog.

True. Here we’re talking about throwing something on the grill for dinner. Not real BBQ. Real BBQ is an all day affair.

If by charcoal, you mean this crap:

I would agree. My steaks are grilled on this:

at 700 degrees over lump hardwood charcoal - takes about 6 1/2 minutes. Feeding one of them to a dog would warrant consigning you to hell for all eternity.

The REAL DEAL is Ceramic with Hard wood lump charcoal too complicated....I can drag my Weber Smokey Joe little grill and a bag of Kingsford (or perhaps some mesquite)anywhere....Ceramic sounds too yuppie and/or Chicom for me.

Depends on the dog ... and your steak budget.

The REAL DEAL is Ceramic with Hard wood lump charcoalDepends. See my "tools" in posts #9 and #17.
I use The Beast® pictured in post #9 to smoke briskets /ribs. I have done them on the Green Egg pictured in #17 but they're not nearly as smoky and I can't do more than a single brisket or 3 racks of ribs. On The Beast®I can triple those volumes.
My gas grill has not been used once since the advent of my Green Egg - it is one of the most amazing grilling machines on the planet.
