I hate to buy liquor in Virginia. The ABC stores have a dreary Soviet atmosphere and the selection leaves much to be desired. As much as I hate the District, I make a run to Schneider’s of Capitol Hill when I need to stock up. Fab store, great selection, they know their wine, (parking nightmare). I don’t know what people in the outlying counties do, but I can only image they are as unimpressed with ABC as I am. The state has no business being in the liquor business.

Never understood having to make a seperate stop just for liquor.

In Pennsylvania if you want just a six-pack you have to into a bar. Or you can buy an entire case at the state store.

Much better to get it from the isle of the local supermarket when doing other shopping or even the corner convenience store.
