For those of us in the Atlanta Metro area who used to love to listen to The Kimmer on WGST/640 AM until he was fired just before Thanksgiving 2006, I've found him. In case you didn't know, he is now doing a podcast for this site:

I was just thinking about the Kimmer yesterday. I always listened to his afternoon show as I was out making customer calls and heading for home at the end of the day.

I was surprised that nobody in this market picked him up since his show was so popular. You never knew what was going to happen. Remember the dust-up over Bell South?

Now if you manage to find Pete Davis, I’ll be very impressed.

Hmmm...that doesn’t ring a bell. But here’s how I found Kimmer. I looked him up on Wikipedia, just for grins:

Well, Pete and Wayne “No Offense” both resurfaced here:

but that was back in July, 2006. Checking to see if they’re still there, or if they’ve moved on.

Well, they’re not on WCFO any more. There’s a show named “Women on the Move” in the time slot that was theirs. I googled “Pete and Wayne Show”, and there’s some comedy duo in Key West, but I don’t think that’s them.

And Friday would not be complete without “Friday I’m in Love” by The Cure:

Cool! Thanks, I loved his show.

I was furious when they replaced him with Dave Ramsey. I still don’t have a good show to listen to on the way home, Pollack & Bell on 790 can be funny but sports talk when it’s not football season bores me to death (it’s still pretty bad when football season is on but at least they don’t have to spend 20 minutes trying to make golf interesting).

I listened to him when I lived in Atlanta in ‘96. I remember once he came out of commercials doing a cadence that went something like: “Urr, Agh, Urr, Agh . . . Put a K-Bar through a commie’s eye!” I figured he was certifiable.

Oooraaahh!!!! Thanks for the link! The Kimmer kept my sanity in Atlanta traffic on the way home ... as I cannot stand Hannity.

I was PO’d when they cut Kimmer too. An hour and a half of Ramsay, Hannity, Medved, Mancow, or all-LeBron-all-the-time sports talk is horrifying.
