Soldiers rescue these animals and get help from rescue groups that help them send these animals out of the country and to a forever loving home that they deserve.

Just. Too. Damn. Cute. Also violates GO 1 if they’re adopting them themselves, but sounds like they may have found a way around it.

Real men are tallest when they lean down to help the smallest. That is a great line.

Awwwww. These guys are just so great! They protect us, rescue opressed people, and rescue helpless animals, too. I just love every one of them!

Seems to me, I saw something on one of the local channels (*gasp*) that showed an animal rescue group (or several) with permission to go into Iraq and Afghanistan and bring home the stray pets, with appropriate paperwork, shots, spaying, etc.
They find homes for the critters before the animals are ever allowed to leave the country. I’d take one in a heartbeat if I could recall the news item.
It seems it was an awesome job, getting the permission to go into other countries and rescue animals, but with lots of donations (carriers, cages, meds, medical services, food and other items) “we” won the right to rescue.
If anyone knows about this effort, I’d appreciate a heads up.

Very sweet. On this website you have a relatively popular poster who admits to putting kittens in a bag and beating them to death so he and his family could go on vacation. Sigh.

If anyone knows about this effort, Id appreciate a heads up. Hi Monkey Face, I have contributed to this organization for about a year now. I don't think it's the one you're referring to, but you might want to take a look at them. Sorry for the non-live link.....sometimes I can do it properly and sometimes not. http://www.nowzad.com/

As long as I can contribute “something” to the animals that have been saved, and are yet to be saved, I’m grateful!
My grandson just recently returned from Afghanistan, but I have yet to hear any stories of critters. Thanks, again!
