The author missed one thing...velociraptors were about 3’ tall, not the six foot monsters of Jurassic Park. Spielberg modeled his dinos on a somewhat larger animal with a less scary sounding name. He attached the name to larger beasts for dramatic effect.
‘Ancient Greece looked more like someone crashed their LGBT pride parade into a Mardi Gras Festival.’
LOL!
A very interesting and amusing article.
Good post!
I disagree with the last one. Big Bang occurring at near light speed would have been very loud. I believe Bell Labs was able to detect the echo of BB 13 billion years later.
I enjoy reading cracked, they have some very interesting articles. One of my favorites was “Eight people you didn’t know were geniuses”.
The problem with cracked it is really, really profane. Funny as all get out, but if four letter words get you, it’s hard to read. And that’s one reason I’ve never posted an entire article here.
I remember that. His work was a kick in the pants to the popular misconception that the Shroud is a medieval forgery.
Another one was the Sudarium of Oviedo - the facecloth that went with the shroud. Its various marks and scratches and stains match up exactly with those on the Shroud - and its provenance is well attested as far back as 300 AD.
The other problem with Cracked is that it is hard left-wing.
They memorably acquired the work of the genius who created the PWOT site, and added boring liberal rants and filthy photos to his funniest work.
>>> Big Bang occurring at near light speed would have been very loud. I believe Bell Labs was able to detect the echo of BB 13 billion years later.
As I understood it, Bell detected electromagnetic radiation residue of the Big Bang. A figurative echo for laymen, not a literal echo. Tune your television to any unused channel and the snow on the screen is what they are talking about. Also remember, in space no one can hear you scream. There is no medium to carry sound.
>>> there is ample evidence that the earliest images/iconography were based on the face in the Shroud of Turin
There is ample evidence that allows speculation but the scientific results still have not conclusively nailed down the Shroud’s authenticity. So to speak. Until then, it remains a chicken or the egg riddle. Did the Shroud inspire the classical imagery, or did the classical imagery inspire the Shroud.
The illustrations I posted are of definite authenticity. Skin tone may shift with style but the basic features were recognizable back to almost the beginning of such portraiture.
Correction. There is far, far more scientific evidence pointing to the Shroud’s authenticity than the contrary.
Now for pete’s sake, don’t be yet another one on this Forum who says “Oh yeah? Put all your evidence here!”. I hate that. I have better things to do with my time.
Interesting read.
#1.
The Big Bang Wasn’t a Bang
That is exactly correct.
“In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.”
Large explosion not necessary.
how do you know there wasn’t a big bang? maybe God started the universe with a clap of his hands.
“how do you know there wasnt a big bang? maybe God started the universe with a clap of his hands.”
The Genesis account states that creation started with God SPEAKING things into existence. (”And God said,’Let there be light’ etc.)
No mention is made of hand-clapping, but that does sound pretty cool.
Just a different perspective you might consider.
Yes, I'm guessing that is true. This article is really funny and I was going to add them to my favorites, until I read this...
If you're gonna have a long, hard day of stealing Indian land, you gotta at least have a shirt that breathes.
No thanks.
