Sheriff Steve Burns just told 11 Connects reporter Nate Morabito that the suspect, David Jackson, is Drake Boyd’s biological father. Burns thinks that Sunday was only the second time Jackson has ever seen the baby.
The assault happened where Jackson was staying in Greene County at 8495 Asheville Highway (Highway 70 South). Burns says the mother whose name has not been released possibly lived in Kingsport.
The mother’s car, a 1999 Dodge Intrepid, was taken after the assault, Burns said. The TBI confirmed that the car had been found in Newberry, South Carolina.
Burns said the mother of the baby was assaulted. He described her as “doing fine.“

Lets see here. She got beat up. Her car was stolen. Her ex took off with the baby.
But she’s “doing fine”.
Gotta love these small town sheriffs.
