Today an electorate, angry and confused, lashed out at Congress people in both parties. Republicans have gained majorities in both the House and Senate. However, wins by Barney Frank in Massachusetts and Nancy Pelosi in San Francisco show that the public still supports Obama’s basic agenda but want a mid-course correction. Exit polls show that the public is confused over who is responsible for the current economic downturn with a large number pointing squarely at the Bush administration and eight years of failure.
