While the world won't really know what team LeBron James(notes) is going to play for next season before he officially announces it this evening, Newsday is feeling pretty good about what its sources are saying: James will join Dwyane Wade(notes) and Chris Bosh(notes) with the Miami Heat.

I am sick of this guy... I am sick of the constant news reports calling him king... there is only ONE KING... HE is known as JESUS.

With Richard Petty and Elvis in the bullpen.

Here's a reason why LeBron will do this: no state income tax in Florida. And that means even without a "max" contract LeBron will end up with more take-home pay than staying with the Cavailers.

Paul Krugman will probably write an article on how tax cuts are not good for the economy or the NBA.

If true, this would be the basketball equivalent of Microsoft, Apple and Cisco coming together to form one huge corporation.

I won’t be surprised if Obama files an anti-trust lawsuit to stop it.

RE: If LJ gets $100 Million

$55 Million Federal Govt
$40 Million Lebron James
$5 Million his agent

If he plays in a state with income tax like NY, more have to be deducted.

James may end up being the best player to never win a championship and all he will have to do is look in the mirror to see why.

Then he should come to Miami, the home of Dan Marino.

Wade is not a selfish player.

He was selfless at Marquette to the point where he slipped in the draft. No one believed he was a star, but rather an above average complimentary guard.

I agree Wade is not selfish, but he is used to having the ball a lot and taking a lot of shots.

He averaged about 20 shots per game last season, as did James. Bosh averaged about 16. It will be nearly impossible for all three of them to get anywhere near the number of shots they are accustomed to.

There is a decent chance they can work it all out and have a dynasty in Miami, but there is also a decent chance they will fall short of the lofty expectations. Remember, the 2004 Lakers had 4 Hall of Famers (Kobe, Shaq, Malone and Payton), plus some nice role players like Derek Fischer and they won only 56 games and lost in the Finals. Of course, Payton and Malone were over the hill and they had a lot of injuries and distractions (Kobe’s sexual assault case).

If Lebron goes to the Heat, it will be interesting to see who takes the big shots in close games. I’m betting on Wade, who while not quite as talented as James, has much more heart and guts. I can picture Bosh and James standing around watching Wade take over games down the stretch.

Unreal ... I've been wondering about his decision and the tax dilemma .. that's simply an ungodly amount. Question is also, how much does he really love Cleveland and Ohio and what are they willing to promise him behind the scenes.

FLORIDA = NO STATE INCOME TAX !

He took over Tiger’s place as the most vomit inducing “sports star”. The media need kneepads.

Hundreds of millions of dollars... for playing basketball... or baseball... or football for that matter. Man we have our priorities so screwed up.

We taxpayers are shelling out billions for stadium facilities that a lot of us can’t afford to enter on game day.

He is BB smart. He’s a terrific passer and took a team of scrubs to the NBA Finals a few years ago. Those Cavs teams weren’t very good at all. He carried them utterly.
