HTC EVO rooted once again by using an exploit in Flash Player. Security concerns arise as users rejoice over being able to root their phones once again after the OTA update.
So: The half-functional, battery-sucking Adobe Flash Player in the latest Android phones is instrumental to opening the door to root access in the Android OS. How... ironic, considering how the Apple-bashing crowd screamed "How dare he?" when Steve Jobs announced that Flash was not coming to the iPhone or iPad for just this reason: insecurity, plus poor performance.

That’s a rather hilarious graphic. Thanks.
The funny thing about this is that as a pro-Apple/anti-Flash issue, the people exploiting the Flash security hole are intentionally rooting their own phones, and are completely happy about the weakness.
NSFW, but very funny

Thank you for the ping! :)
Wonder if our “friends” will show up.
That’s a scream! It also has a counterpart: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UAOtC9QfXac
Sooo... you are saying there may be indeed a VERY good reason why Apple is opposed to Flash? Who’da thunk it !!
Oh, and since we probably won’t see it or it will be buried on the other thread, I will post it here.
It should be known by now that the “App Store Hacked” was FUD. The App store is 100% secure, not hacked and the issue was one “developer” who put up a simple book with no bad code or any hacking issues, and then used other means to charge compromised credit cards or accounts to boost his book sales to make money.
Nothing more. And nothing to do with Apple’s App store policies, security or exploits. If your information IS safe, it remains safe. If you information was compromised, it was compromised by other means prior to this fool using that info for his ill gotten gains.
Not that we will see any of the FUDders say they were wrong... I mean, statistically, if they post every possible FUD which comes about over X period of time, they might actually be right one of these times.... given the law of averages.
But would be a far and away cry from the THOUSANDS effecting MILLIONS which would be required to happen for Apple to even bring parity.
Which, get this... I still say, Until it happens is IMPOSSIBLE* !!!!
*(given the nature of the coding, the systems and protocols in place at the time of this posting, and factoring in the time in between possible worst case scenarios and period patches. Thanks for the ping! :)
Are you on the Android ping list now?
LOL.... Good one
My goodness. What a quiet thread.
Yeah.... not even any crickets. So’s the other FUD thread... Ya know the one where for 100 posts they claimed the iPhone App store was hacked and everyone lost all their personal and financial information... only once it came out that this DID NOT happen... Poof....
Their silence is deafening.
Two things.
First you should read links before posting them, they MAY not say what you think they say.
Second, this is already dead on the thread for which it belongs... go read and post on THAT thread, cause you are 6 hours late to the debate ending and posting it here just looks funny at this stage.
Such a waste of irony.
I’d like the pro google guys to explain why Android phones are so weak when it comes to security. Google Android is a sham. What a joke!
