One month after the disappearance of 7-year-old Kyron Horman, police reportedly said a landscaper told them the Oregon boy's stepmother tried to hire him to kill her husband, Kaine Horman.
After a month with no trace of Kyron the family still hopes for his safe return. The allegation, first reported in The Oregonian but confirmed by ABC News affiliate KATU-TV in Portland through a source close to the investigation, thickens the cloud of suspicion surrounding Terri Horman, the last person to see Kyron before he went missing on June 4
The landscaper allegedly told police that Terri Horman approached him about killing her husband six or seven months before Kyron disappeared, the sources said.

I believe this wasn’t the PC LE had in mind but something happened to change things. I also don’t believe Desiree came all the way to Portland to give that one statement.
Maybe the gf, DeDe, spilled what she knew to LE? I dunno, but seemed like there was a shift in attitude yesterday.
I've wondered if the comment about the reward being doubled "as of 3 p.m." was some type of coded comment directed to the kidnapper?
I'm also curious why Desiree wept openly when the anonymous donor was mentioned? Made me wonder if Beth Holloway and/or her foundation anted up the reward monies???
Does anyone know how long they have been playing Worlds of Warcraft?
Anybody happen to know what their monikers are? AND..... has LE investigated all WOW players who have ever been in intrigate gaming scenarios with Terri & her hubbie?
Seriously --- could she have met some online kook, and together they are "PLAYING" some weird game scenario which spilled over into real life?
Evidentally her friends in Portland aren't providing any real leads into the current location of Kyron Horman.
I'm quite curious if there is any occasion in the past when Terri ever met in real life anybody that she ever played online roleplaying games with????????
But.... surely LEOs would have already checked into this?
Do you believe that Kyron is still alive, and if so, why?If Kyron is located ALIVE, where do you think he will be found?
I've wondered for quite some time if he is at some out of the way secluded type of summer camp --- something used by some type of strange cult group whose members are not privy to TV or newspapers, so don't even realize that anyone is looking for Kyron.
Desiree looked like she had been crying when she first walked in, IMO.
I too feel like they were speaking in “code” which gives me some hope he is alive.
- What Do We Know That We Really Know?
I wonder if any freepers are members of WOW?
Specifically, I think it would be important for investigators to monitor what scenarios she thought up and was enacting in her fantasy roleplaying online gaming community --- seriously, there MAY be all sorts of clues to Kyron's fate & present location in the things she made up in WOW.
Somehow, though, I kind of doubt that ANY of profilers would ever have considered this - it's like they are stuck in the 1940s and trying to profile a 1950's suburban housewife.
I'd also like to know if Dede and any other of her real life friends participated in her corner of the online universe of WOW.
From the Dateline interview, Desiree said the school secretary told her that BOTH Kaine and Terri were right there by her. Desiree didn't call her son's father but the mean step mom. Why???
Yes, Tyler’s project was antimatter. I don’t know that we know who did the electric project or if the project was in the gym where Tyler saw him.
Bingo.
No. Listen to the recording, it'll leave you angry.
Unless and until, LE, Itself, comes on television to present
I've simply had it. Seriously, the reason this is such a time consuming case to follow is that we have NO evidence to discuss, and thus the online chatter is simply bickering about rumors and/or outright flame wars. Where is the evidence?
Also.... very seriously speaking, I can't believe that Terri graduated from college, much less has a master's degree....... so, okay, somehow, somewhere she got a B.A. -- but there's NO way that dummie broad has got a master's degree. NO way.
I mean.... really..... what reporter would ever seriously ask if a toddler has asked for MAMA????
That was SO contrived, and so was the answer.
Sure thing...... we now learn that Kiera must be retarded cuz she never once noticed that mommy has vanished into thin air.
I am sick of the MSM, I am sick of the LIES, no matter where they originate, and I want to know why anybody felt it was appropriate to smear Dede Spicher in the public arena????
For all I know she is guilty; simultaneously, for all I know she is innocent --- and either way, until FACTS, real evidence is submitted to the public, why would they SMEAR her??????
I feel really sorry for Kyron, and I do hope that Child Protective Services does, too.
I haven't the foggiest. I'm leaning toward a stranger abduction. Maybe not a total stranger like they may have known of Kyron or the Harmons but no one close. I don't think it was a family member or Dede, but the landscaper is on my radar.
It seems every time Kaine and Desiree talk, they shoot down another rumor about Terri's involvement even though they're talking to try to get her convicted. What I mean is, they verified that the majority of the information floating around has NOT come from LE nor did the cell phone ping thing. The pings is what I suspect got the web sleuthing community lighting torches. Ya know, the LE could have just been trying to rattle Terri on her timeline, a good cop/bad cop thing, by just throwing out "we know you weren't at Albertson's because your cell phone was at the island tower" and Terri ran around telling everyone that. I bet LE already knows she was at the stores but if they let that out then they admit they don't know jack. Seriously, very few people could provide verifiable evidence and witnesses of their daily lives so if LE verifies the gym (which they did) and verifies the stores, then the driving around time with Kiara is probably true as well.
Frankly, I'm getting worried about Terri. IF she didn't do this and LE is throwing her to the wolves, what if she commits suicide? What then? Will LE just write it off as proof she did the deed and not bother finding out the whole truth and perhaps letting a very sick monster roam the streets of Portland? And, sorry, but no, I don't think little Kyron is alive and hasn't been since shortly after his abduction.
Checking in;)
I’m respectful, but not convinced of Terri’s non-involvement in Kyron’s disappearance.
IMHO she is a survivor and possibly obsessive compulsive. That opinion is based on her body building effort and other various personal & professional successes; i.e. marrying Kaine & retaining custody of Kyron and earning teaching credentials.
The only conclusion for her silent, reclusive behavior would be an overwhelming sense of guilt that Kyron was taken on her watch. But, if the Murder for Hire accusation is accurate - she is not capable of such emotion.
And . . . . that the stranger first saw Kyron either in a photo posted online, or perhaps at one of the gyms that Terri & Kaine frequent . . . . or, who knows? Maybe at that restaurant half way between Medford and Portland where the families would meet to exchange Kyron.
If the stranger discovered Kyron online -- perhaps Terri was aware that someone was pinging her photos of Kyron a bit too often for her comfort level, and that's why she started posting very few shots of Kyron.
AND . . . . if the rumors about the swinger's club are true & accurate, then there is a whole 'nother universe of potential perps.
Then too, there's Tony Young, who as a police detective could have offended who-knows-who in the course of his work duties.
According the "Locals from Portland" thread at WS, talk around town is that everybody believes Terri is responsible; it did interest me that Dede's cousin first posting mentioned that "everybody" thought Terri was psycho nuts, or somesuch. That sounds to me that maybe they're trying to describe a firmly ingrained personality disorder, and NOT something more recent like PPD or PPP.
Your suspicion about the landscaper interests me, as evidentally Rudy had a contract to work on the school grounds - so his presence there would not arouse any suspicion whatsoever.
I'm starting to believe that they will never find Kyron and that this case will go stone cold unsolved.
I'm not sure what to make of that "as of 3 pm today" comment about the reward being doubled -- but ya know, it could just be more evidence of incompetance, that's quite possible.
Seems there's lots of chatter elsewhere that it's impossible that Kaine didn't notice all the problems with Terri, but I feel that plenty of husbands don't notice much of that kind of stuff and if they do, their primary concern is to not "rock the boat" - to somehow maintain some semblance of domestic equilibrium - as opposed to say, noticing that it's severe psychopathology and demanding a therapist.
Anyways, didn't he mention something about them conferring with a marital counselor at some point?
There's an interesting posting about the Adam Walsh case here:

There’s nothing harder than reporting no news like it is news. The Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office press conference at 2:00 PM yesterday was a non-event. A WASH OUT! Millions of people all over the country believed that the arrest of Terri Horman was imminent. The only major announcement was that the reward was doubled, increased from $25,000 to $50,000.
Do you have any idea what role that Dede Spicher seems to have played in all this?
I'd really wish we could learn if she's seeking an immunity deal, but of course we can't learn anything about a grand jury --- although witnesses are legally permitted to share their comments to the GJ with the public, if they so choose.
“What Do We Know That We Really Know?” I’m glad someone out there is realizing we don’t know anything other than a little boy is missing. Some of the We Know List isn’t based on KNOWN FACTS but at least they’re trying to weed out the rumors. It’s good to see someone at the end has tried to categorized it.
OT from the We Know List but in that thread, there’s a link to the satellite image of the school. There’s fields around but we don’t know if there were tall crops growing there on June 4 that would serve as a cover for an abduction. However, an escape route could easily be made on the north side of the school. The northernmost building has trees right up to it’s backside, then it’s a quick bee line across a narrow strip of the field to the woods.
The Dateline reporter said there were 8 outside doors at the school but I didn’t understand if there were 8 total or 8 in the section the reporter was. Either way, there are several exits within steps of a vehicle that could take him away without anyone noticing.
See my post #357.)
I feel like that author - caught up in the vortex and I can’t get out.
Someone somewhere knows the truth - and I don’t know who that is.
