One month after the disappearance of 7-year-old Kyron Horman, police reportedly said a landscaper told them the Oregon boy's stepmother tried to hire him to kill her husband, Kaine Horman.
After a month with no trace of Kyron the family still hopes for his safe return.The allegation, first reported in The Oregonian but confirmed by ABC News affiliate KATU-TV in Portland through a source close to the investigation, thickens the cloud of suspicion surrounding Terri Horman, the last person to see Kyron before he went missing on June 4
The landscaper allegedly told police that Terri Horman approached him about killing her husband six or seven months before Kyron disappeared, the sources said.

Someone posted that Kaine is living with his girlfriend Phyllis....don’t know if it is true or not.
Just watched Dateline and it was a continuation of a witch hunt with nothing but rumors and assumptions and not one single FACT. Sure, Terri could be the evil stepmonster they make her out to be but how about some solid evidence.
There was more than one thing that didn’t sit right:
First - Kaine claimed he and Desiree had already split before he and Terri got together BUT Desiree said there was nothing wrong with their marriage when all of a sudden in her 8th month of pg with Kyron (2002), she found out about Terri.
Second - Dateline asked Desiree why she tensed up when Terri put her arm around her in one of the first televised interviews. Desiree said it was because it was Kaine’s new wife. Uh, eight years in the picture and 20 mo. old Kiara and Terri is Kaine’s “new” wife? Can you say woman scorned and green eyed monster raising it’s head? I lost count of how many rolling eyes and faces she made about Terri and again, uh, hey, IT’S ABOUT KYRON NOT YOUR JEALOUSY ABOUT YOUR EX!!!
3rd - Desiree said when she got sick she gave Kyron (aged 2) to Kaine and thought he and Terri would provide a good home for him. She thought Terri was fine and saw nothing wrong. Fast forward to June 4 and Desiree was fine with Terri driving Kyron to meet her for the weekend. Also, when the school called Desiree about Kyron’s disappearance, she was told both Kaine and Terri were at the school. Desiree did not call Kaine but called Terri. Seems like she was more comfortable with the Terri/Kyron relationship than the Kaine/Kyron relationship or as the ex she didn’t want to deal with Kaine even with something this major.
4th - Desiree said for several months prior, that Kyron didn’t want to go to Kaine’s. Kaine, as usual, claims he didn’t know anything about it and hadn’t noticed that Kyron was upset or had changed in any way. Well, kids do get upset having to be shuffled back and forth so that’s normal. Desiree never gave a specific reason why NOW it was a red flag.
5th - Tony, from the get go, claims he had Terri tagged that first night. Ya know, the more he talked the more I’m convinced he’s the one starting the rumors because there have been leaks that LE claims they didn’t leak but that they leave it to the family if they want to talk to the media. All three state there is NO evidence Terri did ANYTHING but Tony is insistent she did the deed. Sorry, but I wouldn’t want him as my local LE. Suspicions are fine as long as you then follow them up with cold hard facts and there are zero cold hard facts to implicate anyone in this case.
6th - The fitness club owner was all ooooh, I’m on tv! Disgusting. Add another freak to this circus. He and Dateline tried to make Terri out to be a real hard core kidnapper just because she was upset and looking for Kaine and said if Kiara was in their daycare that she would take her. Fine, she was mad and what mother wouldn’t be? Ok, she shouldn’t have said that and who knows if she would have acted on her words but I can see where she was coming from.
7th - Dateline never did say that most of Terri’s time was verified for that day. They tried to make it sound like Terri had refused to tell LE anything or that she had given a timeline of her activites. Nothing about the LE looking at the grocery store tapes or the driving around.
8th - Of course, Dede was brought in and it was a repeat of she’s influencing Terri and telling everyone not to talk to LE. Not a word about her life being dragged through the mud or interviewing with LE but apparently that’s just not sensational enough and does add to the evil stepmom plot.
9th - Oh, and there was an evil plot, according to Dateline. The MFH and sexting was brought up so Terri must have had this planned for months. And, surprise, Kaine claims he didn’t have a clue and that his marriage was great until LE told him about the MFH.
10th - Cook and the sexting. Hmm, Cook said Kaine and Terri live “right up the road” from him. Really? Right up the road yet it was taking Kaine 6-8 months to get together with him and still hadn’t seen him??? But, poof, he was on their doorstep the next day with a truck load of food and stuff to help out? That just doesn’t add up, folks.
11th - The flier sent out to parents at the school was somehow twisted to make it Terri the POI with “Have you seen this truck” and “Have you seen this woman” or similar words.
12th - There were lots of pictures that Dateline said the family shared and that one would be hard pressed not to find one where Kyron wasn’t smiling. I would like to know how many of those Terri took of him smiling at her and the camera.
There were other things in the show that didn’t set right and where the parties’ stories didn’t jive but I can’t think of them right now. Basically, it was a continuation of the witch hunt. Whew, have these past two years taught me how rotten the msm is.
Somehow I am not thinking this boy will be found alive anymore.....
Aha. Lies from the father now. And I suspect he probably is living with a new girlfriend.
Ewwww! What do these women see in him?!? He has them waiting in the wings before he dumps the one before. And the rumor mill is all over Terri and the sexting...
I am intrigued by this. Wonder if we will hear more about this later?
And that's the key point, imo. It's all over the news about Terri but only here and there about Phyllis...
Like I said above, Desiree couldn't give a reason why he was upset but I have a sick feeling that she'll come up with some story in the next few days (along with faces and eye rolls). I'm not saying it isn't true since kids, even teens, do get upset when having to be shuffled around. It's normal and to be expected. But someone is lying and there have been far too many liars in this. BTW, yes, Desiree is heartbroken, scared, and misses Kyron and that was evident in the show. Oh, something else that was odd. Dateline showed the inside of the school and Kyron's room at Desiree's, but only a still photo of the outside of Kaine's house. Why not show Kyron's room or his toys at Kaine's? Could we be seeing more of Kaine's control here?
Well, that’s interesting. Wish we knew if Phyllis was real or nothing but a rumor. She might be the reason for the MFH. Of course, no one knows if the MFH was anything more than her being mad one day and venting or if she had cash in hand or if the landscape guy was lying.
Hmm, do you remember some time back that is was RUMORED that Terri had left her cell phone in her mustang that day? Kaine had the mustang and her cell was pinging to Sauvie Island. So, where was Kaine and where was this Phyllis person? I’ve
heard that Kaine has proven he was at work but there are back doors... now, see, I’m falling into the muddy rumor pit again...
If it was known that the school didn’t have any security cameras and there was going to be lots of people in and out with the science fair, that would be the perfect opportunity for a stranger abduction. Why any school today wouldn’t have cameras is beyond me.

Here’s a good history of the parties dated June 19. There’s a lot of ‘yep, I thought so’ in it especially that it was indeed Terri who drove Kyron to his weekend visits and not Kaine. The only thing that doesn’t quite fit with other info is Kaine’s ex-sister in law’s comments on how/when Terri entered the picture so there’s still some non-truths being told by more than one person about friendships past and present.

Dede’s attorney says she isn’t speaking with Terri. Of course, that probably doesn’t mean anything other than he told her to remove herself from the Terri fallout to protect herself. He also stated it wouldn’t surprise him if Terri were charged in the MFH case. Of course, the GJ goes on evidence and if the landscaper (still have my eye on him) says she approached him then that’s evidence. She would have to present her side in court. I don’t know why Dede would be called for the MFH but if Dede worked for the guy and was friends with Terri then one or both may have confided to her. That’s pretty fast to get to the GJ this soon but maybe they are trying to scare her into telling about Kyron.
LE is supposed to have a press conference at 2 pm (their time) so maybe they’ll say something more than they’re progressing. If Terri did harm Kyron, then the LE will be heroes, but if she didn’t and they wasted all this time, the citizens of Portland, if not the nation, should tar and feather the lot of them.
I wonder if high calibre attorney Stephen Houze was able to sell the MOVIE RIGHTS to Terri Moulton's life story?
Seriously. I'm not trying to make a bad joke, but surely there are a huge number of producers who'd bid for a chance to do her entire life story.
The little Californian infant adopted at 8 months of age who becomes a woman of three former husbands, two children of her own and a vanished stepson --- surely such a documentary piopic would bring in bids from all over the place?
HIGH bids. She's not yet been charged with any crime, much less convicted, so she can sell her story.....
That’s the web rumors but I thought there was a law you couldn’t make money off your crime? If so, then Terri can’t make money off any crime she commits and as her lawyer, Houze can’t because of lawyer/client confidentiality besides, he’s wealthy enough not to lower himself (can lawyers get any lower?) to making trash movies. There’s been enough splattered out there publicly that a movie producer wouldn’t need to pay anyone for rights.
6 1/2 - 7 hours until the press conference. Maybe we’ll learn something then. Rumor mill says there’s supposed to be 1 or 2 arrests as well.
Ugh, too early in the morning - meant the above post to say IF she is later convicted of a crime she can’t sell the story.
I don't believe that chatboard rumor for one second; however, I do hope that sometime in the future we'll learn who was the family who took in Kaine and his daughter for the period after he left his house and when they moved back in.
I presumed that it was some type of "professional" emergency foster care family who opened their doors --- that's a different category than people who do longterm foster care of children.
