This thread is proof that choices in firearms are among the most intimately personal choices we make. Sometimes way too personal it would seem.

I am satisfied with the .45 ACP 1911 models. Its what I started out with and what I will use till I pass on. I am comfortable with it, ammo is plentiful and cheap, I have two Kimbers, a Para Ordinance, and two Colts in the 1911 and the magazines are interchangeable with all but the Para Ordinance.
