I've never done a vanity before, and I looked at a bunch of threads hoping to avoid doing one. But nothing I found matched up with what I wnat to post about.
About half an hour ago, someone came up on my porch to my front door. (I am now in VERY small town Ohio, and people don't just come walking up on your porch like that.) I went to the door to see who it was and what he wanted. He was wearing a red T-shirt and carrying a clipboard. He mentioned the name of an organization that went by me too quickly, don't know what it was, but the rest of what he said was AFL-CIO. That's also what his red shirt said. I just said, "union, go away," and he disappeared lickety split! This was about 7:30 Eastern. Anyone else have any experience like this??
our small town fire dept thought it wanted to go union then changed its mind so the union sued the city 3 years ago..its costing the town 250 thousand dollars a year for attoneneys to handle it...and it will probably never end.. I think the fire department should pay it.
Do you not own a shotgun?
Where do you think the Fire Dept. gets it's money?
No, I don’t. I should probably get something, but I’ve never owned or used a gun, so I keep putting it off. I don’t think this guy was dangerous, just wondered if anyone else had encountered this and what it might mean.
Ohio, as it has been for decades, is a national political linchpin. With the Dems on the defensive for the mid term elections, they and their allies are hoping to limit their losses through an intensive organizational effort. Therefore, even in small toen Ohio, you get a visitor from an AFL-CIO political organization.
ACORN did that to me just before the 2004 election, also in Ohio.
I’d get a shotgun if I were you. You’ll be a target. Bad experience from the Teamsters with our family biz growing up. Threats of kidnapping, etc.
I’m not surprised to hear about a Red wearing red.
“I dont think this guy was dangerous,...”
Only when you disagree with him will he become dangerous. Otherwise, you have nothing to fear! LOL!
Do you or family work at a company that is a potential union organizing target?
They do not screw with us in my part of Georgia. We the five house on my street have a combined total of 27 firearms.
No. I’m just recently returned here, living in a house my sister owns. Nobody would even know. It feels random. But that’s why I’[m concerned about it.
My guess would be they’re out fundraising, community organizing, getting out the vote, inspiring the downtrodden, and all the other stuff that the Baraqqi Coalition is famous for.
If your concerned, don’t post on a forum, call the local LEO’s and ask “what up with AFL-CIO on your property without your consent.
Former union member friend used to go door to door with her union to register people to vote. I bet anyone that didn’t register democrat never were registered by them.
throw a brick in his general vicinity.
Only 27?
Slackers! My dog nearly has that many stashed away in her closet!
I bet your street hasn’t had many home invasions...
Kinda what I thought, too, - still, it just came from out of nowhere, and I just wanted to know if I was the only one. The guy was tall, thin, kinda wimpy, I think that even now, I’m in my early 60s, I could have sent him packing. He ran when I said union be gone!!!
