FIFA World Cup 2010 South Africa - Day 19 - Live Thread: Paraguay V Japan; Spain V Portugal.
Don’t underestimate Japan, I was very impressed with their performance against Denmark.
That's a big "if."
The first goal was because of the short goalie, and, on the second, I don't know where the Chile back 4 was and why they didn't feel it was necessary to get back.
On the other hand, Brazil may be playing only as good as they have to.
Holland and Brazil will be a great game.
Japan got lucky by taking advantages of Denmark’s mistakes in the last match. They won’t be able to do that with Paraguay.
NO video reviews! I know, I know, it’s so unAmerican, we expect perfection every time after all, and would not terribly mind lawyers and lawsuits to determine the winners. Cheeps in balls ought to solve one problem, but the missed offsides, fouls and mistakes are and have always been part of the game.
0 - 0 halftime, pretty intense atmosphere.
This one has PKs written all over it.
My buddy said the same, over an hour ago. This must have been one horrible game. Glad I do not have to watch this. But we are going to watch the penalty shootout here, at least :-)
This game certainly won’t win over any new converts to soccer.
PKs now.
What if the PKs go on and on like that Wimbledon match?
Japan misses!
Paraguay Wins!
Damn crossbar :-(
We could have an all South America Final Four.
But honestly, I don’t see Paraguay winning their next game, certainly not the way they played today.
Germany will take care of Maradona and his team.
I sure hope so.
A Spain win would mean the US would be the only Group Winner to not make it past the Round of 16.
I just lived through 20 anxious minutes when my Comcast Cable (Charles Co.) went out, as I was watching the first half of the Spain-Portugal World Cup match! It came back, and it’s still 0-0. Geez, what great timing!
