At first glance Carline Felts didn't think anything about a flyer that was left on her door, but after a closer look she says she's offended. "That's not acceptable!" she said sternly. "I haven't seen White Trash around here."
The "White Trash Party" was to be hosted by the Zen Restaurant and Bar in the Austin Ranch apartment community in The Colony, just off of the North Dallas Tollway.
On one side of the flyer there's a scantily clad woman and a picture of Britney Spears on the bottom. The other side of the flyer has a shot of a trailer park.
The ad urges everyone planning to attend to 'dress the part'. "They wouldn't have a Hitler party or a come get ghetto with us [party]," Felts said in objection of the event.
But not everyone is against the party. Steve Birge and his girlfriend Stacey Lamp wouldn't dream of missing the party on Sunday. "Oh come on its outrageous! I love it," said Birge, who lives at Austin Ranch. "I'm going over there and dress the part; with the fake mullet and everything." Lamp says she'll be wearing her 'Daisy Dukes' and a cut off white tank top.
The "White Trash Party" is supposed to be a fundraiser for a girls softball team. The team, 99 TX MX Blue, is trying to go to Florida for the National Championships and needs at least $12,000 to make the trip happen.
"Not to offend anyone, we felt like white trash running around trying to get all the money," explained James Wilson, a parent of one of the softball players. "All the girls on the team are 'redneck' girls and we were laughing."

About 5 years ago me and a neighbor hosted one of the “White Trash” parties. It was Epic, people still talk about it to this day, I’m not kidding.......
Tell me more.... just how did you guys host the event?

It was so easy, people get the theme right off the bat. We did have a “SPAM ART” contest that we just added for filler, but what we did not count on is that 50% of the guests brought spam art!!!!!, Which cut into Karaoke time for SPAM Awards. The whole concept is “A Win” Rich , Poor, no worries, keep the food to the theme as well, but you will need Karaoke, rent a machine, lots of choices that way, Good Luck!
Awards presented for SPAM Art!
Tooooo funny!!
Lemmy would approve.
