Glad Rush and I could help! It really does make reading FR on the iPhone a lot better. I also like the “ask which start page” feature, too, so be sure to check it out.
You’re welcome!
Ping, in case this escaped your attention Swordmaker.
Go to the forum you want to be in where you see the double column layout... double click on the comments section and the screen will zoom into just the single column of the comment. Scroll down and up only in that section. Done.
Clicking on a link will take you to a new tab window and retain that size and orientation. You can return to your previous tab window by clicking the tab window selector at the lower right and selecting the window you want.
I hope this helps.
If you want on or off the Mac Ping List, Freepmail me.
Well, I’m not sure why yours is different, but when I view FR on my iPhone, posts fill the screen perfectly. I do not have to scroll to the right because text goes to the edge of the display and then wraps around. I don’t see any settings in Safari or in general settings that would account for this, but it works.
I second the recommendation of Opera. It “breaks” the formatting of pages, where Safari tries to retain the same layout you’d see on a desktop; the former approach works better for FR and some other sites, though I still prefer Safari for most stuff.
Thanks. I haven’t tried it your way. I never thought of going to a certain forum — I tend to just read latest posts. I did find that the other browser works very nicely, so I am using it. Going on vacation soon and needed to make sure I could browse FR perfectly!
Works like a charm.
Ping for later
