I write a political column in my hometown newspaper. I am writing a column next week proposing that a Texas secession is the only solution to Barack Obama's massive Government expansion. I would like some feedback on the potential positives and negatives of a Texas secession. I really value your critical opinions and want to make sure I am not overlooking any critical aspect of this issue.

I think you should take on a bit more than that. I'm willing to forget the responsibility Texas presidents and Texas Speakers of the House and Texas Senate Majority Leaders had to do with it and would be willing to divide it up based on population. Texas has about 25 million people, or about 8% of the U.S. population. Federal debt at the end of the 2009 fiscal year, the last budget Bush was responsible for, was about $13 trillion. So I figure that Texas' part of that is just around $1 trillion dollars. A nice going away present.
We might be able to work with some of that.
Would you like to drill in the Gulf of Texas, by the way?

When you call for the secession of Texas, because you have some ill thought out idea that it will be your own private version of...what? What if they adopt laws and policies you don't like? What qualifies as “Texan”? Simple residency? Or do they have to be past members of America that want to be traitors? What if it becomes simple residency and 50.01% want to become Azatlan? Will you willingly join in with La Raza? Is there a race component?

That's because I saw past the mask. In this you share another trait with Socialists such as Obama. You want to do it, you just won't say it. You hide it. You prat about Texas, and the idea of a sovereign Texas, but what you really want is power. You want to make other people fall in line with what you demand,(and you call me statist!).
You promote no ideas. You illustrate no principles to follow or rally around. You just want to tear things down and make it ugly and hateful and just to feel you have some power. When history looks at where the concentration camp guards came from, where the petty officials consigning people to the gulags came from, they will find people just like you.
Make something offensive up? No. I simply called you out. It seems you didn't like it. Too bad.

Ridiculous, statement. Secession is the opposite of war. The state wants to LEAVE, the last thing they want is war. Knowing the war like tendencies of people like you, they would have to prepare.
Why is the concept of secession so hard for you to grasp?
Well, I refer to them because you won’t. I repost them because you are running from them like a scared little boy, or a bully which might be more accurate.
I repeat them because they pin you down and show your nature in a way you are too cowardly to respond.
There is no argument with myself. I simply choose not to wallow down in the mud with you, but hold you to your ideas...what there are of them.
You are still running away. The childish name calling you are left with is the futile flailings of someone without the ability to refute the points because they are true.
Now, are you remotely man enough to go back to the last post and deal with the issues, or are you going to continue to get smacked around? I don’t mind. I feel a little embarrassed for you, but maybe this will help you grow and become a man.
