I’ve been to China several times on business. The first time was in the mid 90’s and even then my opinion changed 180 degrees from the stereotype prevalent in the US. Each time I went back it was an eye opener. They had taken to capitalism with a vengeance. Nothing of the communist philosophy is evident. If I had to pigeon hole it, I would call it a nationalist, single party, somewhat benevolent dictatorship who have their country’s interest at heart more than our current regime has ours.
And they understand economics and capitalism better than our politicians.
I sure wish the likes of Rush and Hannity would spend some time there and get educated - for as much as I like them, they can sound real ignorant when they start talking about China.
My biggest pet peeve with Rush is his continued use of “ChiComs”.
An actual, objective view would realize they are actually the ChiCaps (Chinese Capitalists) and we’re the AmeriComs (American Communists).
As Rush likes to say, Words Mean Things. Unfortunately, he doesn’t get these right. I’m sure if he started making this distinction a large percentage of his listeners would immediately tune out, however...
