Because i have not seen a single comment about the horrible referees (and they have been horrible) since the US has won,
So it looks like your fellow countrymen just prove you wrong ;-)
btw. bitching and losing the last nerves because of the referees is about as old as football (soccer).
And is a part of this sport!

Oh no, the referees (and assistants) have been pretty horrible in the tournament overall, and Team USA has had more than its share of bad calls against. They just managed to overcome it this time.

Thanks for making my point for me! ;0)

Letting the refs decide the outcome of the game kills it. They are far more influential to the result than any American sport. They either need better refs with more accountability, more refs/linesmen to make better offsides calls, or use technology.

Resisting those improvements will make the soccer powers-that-be seem like the baseball dinosaurs here who carp about "tradition."

And bad calls in baseball rarely decide the entire outcome of the game.
