USA v Algeria 10am EDT
USA win, they are in!
Yes, soccer is not nearly as exciting as watching cars drive in circles for three hours- much of the time under a caution flag.
Soccer certainly is not as exciting as two people bouncing a yellow ball back and forth. I love the needlessly complicated score keeping in that one.
And nothing comes close to edge-of-the-seat action as trying to get a small ball into a hole in the ground. Wow.
Shutting out England would make a win especially sweet. Nothing against Old Blighty in general, but they were so arrogant about their chances in Group C I can’t help but relish the idea.
Have never watched soccer not do I care too..but hope US wins.

That's great!

Ask Michael Jordan how easy baseball is?
Yes it is almost as good as watching your grass grow. I really want a vuvuzulu cd.
Yeah, but in car racing you get to see a really exciting wreck every once in a while.

I guess a daily “soccer sucks” thread should be started for all the negative people. Think that will keep them away? Probably not.
Go USA!
You get 90 solid minutes of a bad wreck when France plays soccer.
Tell me that isn't fun to watch!

Perhaps this will do :-P

Well said.
About “American” football (as it is known outside of the United States):
Are you aware the ball is in play for only 11 minutes or less as these ninnies dress in bulletproof costumes and crash helmets? And folks pay a zillion dollars to attend 11 minutes of this?
I love soccer (officially known as “Association Football”).
I have just changed into my fire retardant suit.
My best regareds to you, bobjam.
Well played, kevkrom, well played.
I am waiting for the “If you watch the World Cup, you are a Globalist” comment.
LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Or NBA basketball, oh Kobe makes a twenty-foot jumper, yeah for about the 40th time in the game, whoopee!. And the last two minutes of the 4th quarter takes 30 minutes to play.
It would have even been better if Meh-He-Ko crashed out yesterday.
I love that score.
I see it is played in the key of “A.”
Useless trivia time ...
USA has lost every final group match since 1950. Let’s hope that streak ends today.
