I wonder, do they evaluate which officials will do the remaining matches, based on their performance in the group stage?
Assuming we get Serbia, my thought would be they are pretty much like Slovenia, a tall, physical team, but not necessarily a fast team.

I don't like soccer either but it IS the World Cup so I'm not about to make a nuisance of myself interjecting stupid comments on a thread that was not created for me.
There needs to be a "Special Events Moderator" whose job is to be sympathetic to the individuals participating on threads such as this and remove the comments by the obvious thread disrupters. Or better yet, a "Special Events" forum where topics such as this and the upcoming Tour de France can be posted that is closed to disrupters and closely monitored by the Admin Monitors..........
Last week was a prime example on the daily Rush thread when Rush returned to the airwaves on Tuesday following his wedding. There were several individuals on the thread for the entire 3 hours constantly bashing Rush who were asked repeatedly to leave but they didn't, they just kept up with their crap.
I hit the abuse button several times asking the Moderators to do something about them but they never did. I finally left the thread in disguest........

Of course you do.....You live in the country that gave us Ismael Laguna and Roberto Duran. Even tho I'm not a soccer fan, I'd love nothing better than to be in C.A. during the World Cup and get caught up in the excitement amongst a population that lives for soccer.
I had that pleasure back in the early '90's I think when I was vacationing in Honduras at the time the World Cup was going on.........
As a side note, my brother-in-law is from Honduras. Back around 1982 or '84 his nephew was asked to play on the Honduran national soccer team but he had to decline because he had just entered medical school.........
We've spoken before, I was stationed on Flamenco Island from 11/69 to approx. 5/70 then Ft. Clayton till 1/72..........
Here's another side note. My cousin, who I previously informed you bought property in Bocas del Toro and built a house on one of the archipelago islands, is now managing a small place just north of Panama City on Contadora Island.......
Germany looked terrible last night despite winning. They have to crank it up if they are to advance any further. On the flip side, how about Australia??????? Good on them!
