Has he demonstrated HFCS causes these problems - or simply that being obese and overeating causes these problems, which we already knew?

Not much to go by in this report. Study seems to show that "high" Fructose diets are bad for you. I think that is a given. The question is, is there a difference between a fructose intake via HFCS (55% F) and Sucrose, table sugar(50% F)?I guess this also means we can go back to eating Trans fats! /sarc

Study seems to show a link between obesity and fatty liver disease. No surprise there. Nothing to indicate that fructose is any more dangerous than sucrose.

Waiting until next week when the Emily Latella report on high fructose and trans fat is issued - “Nevermind”.

Sugar is bad, fructose or sucrose. If one or the other were fed at the same levels, I susspect results would be similar.

Transfats are, I believe, smoke and mirrors to hide the adverse effect of veggie oils (Omega 6’s) from corn, soy, etc. These oils are bad and cause all the problems blamed on transfats. You cannot have transfats unless you first have the Omega 6’s.

There is already a natural combination of antioxidants and herbs to repair seriously damaged livers, and I suspect they would be effective in treating livers damaged by fructose/sucrose and transfats/Omega 6’s. We use alpha lipoic acid, selenium and sylimarin effectively. This will repair livers damaged by tylenol or poison mushrooms that otherwise would require liver transplant.
