Here is video of Florida GOP Sen. George LeMieux speaking on the Senate Floor today, where he blasted the Obama Administration’s response to the Gulf Oil Spill Crisis.
He particularly slammed Obama for the fact that there are still only 20 skimmers working off the coast of Florida to keep the oil at bay. This despite the fact LeMieux was told there are 2,000 skimmers available in the U.S. alone, in addition to international offers of help with skimmers.
LeMieux said he was told only 20 skimmers were in use to contain the massive Gulf Oil Spill because others may be needed “for an oil spill!” Are you kidding? Imagine the difference it would make if you had 2000 skimmers at work in the Gulf instead of 20. Sen. LeMieux said he will return to the Senate floor every day to ask, “Where are the skimmers?”

I’m starting to get the impression that the commie ‘RATS WANTED oil washing up on our beaches. It’s one of Emanuel’s “Never let a good crisis go to waste” things. The Obama regime needed something to shakedown “Big Oil”. Oil on the beaches would do it.

For the next 100 days, this guy should post a YouTube video of 20 idle skimmers in a different location, titled as follows:
Day 61: 20 skimmers in Savannah, GA that Barack Obama
refuses to use in the Gulf.
Day 62: 20 skimmers in Virginia Beach, VA that Barack Obama
refuses to use in the Gulf.
Day 63: 20 skimmers in Morehead City, NC that Barack Obama
refuses to use in the Gulf.
etc.
etc.
For variety, he can add a picture of foreign ships every 5th day with a similar title about a particular country whose help Obama has refused (I believe there’s 19 of these???).

They own the car companies, they own the banks, they are taking over big oil. What more do they need to collapse the system?
This administration is a complete disgrace and any enviromentalist with any real conscience should be shouting bloody murder. I am no enviro nut by any stretch and I am disgusted by what I am seeing - or not seeing as the case may be.
Waht else would they need to do?
Take over healthcare, reitrement accounts and the internet.
Then we can be North Korea.

I don’t think that’s the case. If you capture the oil as it comes up you can flush the seawater and reclaim the a good percentage of the oil. If you capture it far out it doesn’t end up on the shores. Isn’t that right?
I think he just extends his house cleaning schedule to the Gulf.
Nagin had his lot full of school busses, Obama has his skimmers. Now all we need is a photo. Way to go, Senator LeMieux, good job and keep it up!
The President needs to get to the Gulf states and lead the cleanup effort.
If President Spuds MacKenzie can’t lead, he should work on his short game by chipping tar balls into waste containers
So which Gulf State doesn’t have a REPUBLICAN governor? Except for crist who was one...sort of.

I live in the panhandle of Florida. The truth is there is a claims office here, but all they do is provide a phone number. They are basing claim amounts on prior IRS filings. How many fisherman do you think file their taxes quarterly and correctly. The subcontractors have hired people but noone has gone to work. Communication is almost non-existent. This whole response is a JOKE.
