Another officer gets his angel wings the hard way. My prayers for his family.
No photo’s?
OK, this doesn’t give any information. Was the police chief’s son the officer or one of the guys doing the shooting? Who wrote this, a ten year old?
I’m confused. Is this police chief’s son also a cop, or is he just a civilian who happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time? Or, is he actually involved in the shooting somehow, perhaps drug related?
I think they’re still trying to figure out what happened.
Not the son and not sure if he was the one shooting at Officer Shaw.
....The slain police officer was identified this morning as Craig Shaw, a five-year veteran of the force and a member of its regional tactical team. ...

“A police officer and two other men, including Dallas Police Chief David Brown’s adult son, were fatally shot Sunday night....”

As per the article (which was clearer than the terrible headline), the Dallas Police Chief’s son was not a police officer, but one of the “two other men” who were shot and killed. It isn’t clear whether the son was shot before or after the police officer got to the scene.
But now it gets murky. It is confusing if Brown, the Chief's son was involved or was a victim in the initial report of a shooting, or if he shot the officer who responded to the call, and was then shot by the other officer.
I'm going to speculate:
In the first call, Brown was shot and killed.
Officers responded, and Officer Shaw was shot and killed.
An officer returned fire, killing the shooter who killed Brown and Officer Shaw.
Another gate guard in Heaven. RIP American hero.
That was pretty much my take on it too, but it really would have been nice to have someone who supposedly went to J school actually write that. What on earth do these people get paid for?
It took a combination of mind numbed writing combined with mind numbed editing. Evidently, clarity is not required in journalism school.
I was thinking the same thing. Then I thought maybe I hadn’t had enough coffee this morning. It reads like something a 4th grader would write.
I need an idiot to English translator. I don't speak idiot.
LOL, yes, and notice it took three of them to write that jumbled mess.
Officer down is 37-year-old Craig Shaw, father of two children (God Bless them).
Brown Jr was not a cop
Investigation pending....it's not clear what the altercation was - read thru the comments section from some eyewitness accounts
why are they witholding infomration about Shaw and Brown Jr.
In 1988, his police academy classmate and former partner Walter Williams was fatally shot in the line of duty. Three years later, his younger brother, Kelvin Brown, was killed in the Phoenix area by drug dealers.
That's a lot of "bad luck."
