Whenever one of those “boom boom boom boom” cars is close by, I always want to shoot out their tires. Is that wrong?

I live on a busy city street I hear these cars go by several times a day, I hate them. It is just one of the stupid things people do that ruins some aspect of their health.

Home theater is one of my hobbies, and when someone asks about buying a HT system, I always advise them not to skimp on their subwoofer (SVS or Hsu offer great value).
Invariably the person starts talking about how much they hate the WHUMP-WHUMP-WHUMP they hear from cars, not realizing that the distorted, blaring mess they hear from most automobiles is the pretty much the exact opposite of what you hear from a tight, controlled (well engineered) subwoofer in a home environment.

Ever find yourself sitting at a red light and all you can hear is the base of a sound system A base (as in all your base are belong) is incabable of making a sound.

Ah, yes weapons grade sound systems.
Gotta love ‘em.
I wonder if they interfere with infrasound detection systems?

The hair trick, old news... I designed and built the woofers that
did this. And yes, that's 170+ dB SPL, well in excess of a 30-06 rifle at the muzzle, and 100 times more powerful than a jet engine at 100 feet. And his door pillars soon thereafter tore in half, due to the flexing because of the amount of air pressure.
The young lady in that first video would be permanently and irreversibly deaf if she sat in Scottie's van running at full tilt.
Also built this beast which, when equipped with its 24" x 24" baffle, would displace 2 cubic FEET of air (it has 6" of linear stroke). Those big 21" woofers at rock concerts? It would take 28 of them to equal the output of this beast (for scale, the steel plates are 8" in diameter, and the whole assembly is 20" long).
Yeah, I'm responsible for some of those boom cars...

Too much volume can render you unconscious, as I learned once from a wind tunnel. I got into “safety” in time, but I was slipping away.

The writer says:
"I never have been able to understand how someone could actually be enjoying whatever it is they are listening to" They don't enjoy it. They're willing to destroy their own hearing just to piss other people off. These aggressive tendencies tend to be part of human adolescence -- and adolescence has nothing to do with actual chronological age. For instance, we now have an adolescent of a different type in the White House.
