A grade-separated highway on the east side of Texas from the Border will provide the incentive and opportunity to increase Texas trade through the Panama Canal. To get this done, it will be a simple matter of grade-separating existing US Highways in several locations. Why don’t you want to see the Texas economy in (a true Republic) flourish?

I think Mexico and Central and South America will flourish but I doubt if the US will benefit as much. I think we import a lot more from Canada and countries south of the border than we export to them. Also I understand that China would rather send their goods to us through Mexico rather than directly to us.
