Interstate 69 is a planned 1,600-mile national highway serving the United States between the borders of Mexico and Canada. Eight states are involved in the project. In Texas, I-69 will be developed as part of the Trans-Texas Corridor (TTC) master plan. The proposed I-69/TTC study area extends from Texarkana/Shreveport to Mexico (possibly the Rio Grande Valley or Laredo).

I-69 would be a strange alignment for a Trans Texas Corridor. About 700 miles too far East.
On the bright side, I don't suspect Perry will be able to keep his particular brand of crony capitalism from biting him on the ass if he wins another term.
Folks in Shreveport are still trying to get I-49 to go all the way to Kansas City. Then from KC to the Canadian border with the southern terminus going down into Texas. The idea is for traffic/business to expand while they pick up a slice as it goes by.
the i69 signs get stolen all the time.
especially the mile marker 69 on i69- i pass it everyday on the way to work, it disappears a couple times a year.
I used to live right off of exit 145. Don’t recall stolen signs, though everyone made fun of it.

It goes all the way to Canada; from Mexico to Canada.
The multi-modal corridor concept is dead. Texas still plans to build roads.
The TTC was to follow I35 which started in Laredo and is not that far from Mission. I’m sure that after they get done with I69, they will “revisit” I35.

I think that was the original intent but it appears that has changed now.
I have no doubt. I’m for things that improve commerce, in general.
A grade-separated highway on the east side of Texas from the Border will provide the incentive and opportunity to increase Texas trade through the Panama Canal. To get this done, it will be a simple matter of grade-separating existing US Highways in several locations. Why don’t you want to see the Texas economy in (a true Republic) flourish?

And don’t forget now boys and girls the socialist/Marxist/RATS also have a plan to greatly reduce automobile use and develop high-speed rail, which few will be able to afford to ride, and can’t afford to go anywhere anyway. (Special tax on this and that, double your electric bill, you get the drift, right.)
I think Mexico and Central and South America will flourish but I doubt if the US will benefit as much. I think we import a lot more from Canada and countries south of the border than we export to them. Also I understand that China would rather send their goods to us through Mexico rather than directly to us.
