I-69/TTC
TexDOT ^ | 2010

Posted on 06/17/2010 11:44:14 AM PDT by antidemoncrat

Interstate 69 is a planned 1,600-mile national highway serving the United States between the borders of Mexico and Canada. Eight states are involved in the project. In Texas, I-69 will be developed as part of the Trans-Texas Corridor (TTC) master plan. The proposed I-69/TTC study area extends from Texarkana/Shreveport to Mexico (possibly the Rio Grande Valley or Laredo).

While on a recent trip to Mission Texas we notice construction along the proposed I69 interstate. It appears that even though Gov. Perry and other sources said the Trans Texas Corridor (TTC) was dead ( that was to follow I35), it has just been, as Progressives do so often for unpopular agendas, redefined. The TTC appears now to be the new and improved I69 and is under construction.

Reminds me of the Stone Mountain Frewway In Atlanta. It got stopped by GA supreme court for various reasons and came back as the Stone Mountain Parkway with a supposed 35 mph speed limit. It was going to connect the Carter Library with Stone Mountain so the locals called it the Ex-Prez Way. Finally got that killed too.

Why would it be numbered I-69, anyway?

I-65 is central Alabama, I-75 is central Georgia, I -69 would therefore be along the Ga/Ala border. Why is it in Texas?

Meet the new boss - same as the old boss.

Over the last 5 years or so there must have been a thousand articles ridiculing conservatives who warned of this.

“No truth to it!” we were told. “Just another right-wing, anti-immigrant scare tactic! said others.

But no matter which party runs the show, the BIG GOVERNMENT machine rolls on.

My parents bought a house in Greenwood, In in 1972..............they built a highway next to them then that was designated HWY 37 but the U.N. map from the mid 70’s already had it as I69,this road is going to be built..

Yep, as Gov. Perry said the Trans-Texas Corridor is dead. As most Progressives do, they simply re-name it something else.

Here, is A.C. Wharton, mayor of Memphis, Tennessee, admitting the "Insert New Name Here" North American Superhighway exists.

Not that we have a choice in the governor's election, but I am astonished of how many Texans fall for Perry's conservative, tea party attending act now that the election campaign is here again.

Part of the ‘summer of recovery party’ Obama and Biden are planning, before elections get here..

Or are they getting ready to let the Mexican trucks just run through the U.S.?

I-69 already exists, or at least a part of it. Starts in Indianapolis and heads due north to Lansing, Michigan, then makes a 90-degree right turn off thru Flint and over to the Canadian border. The Governor of Indiana at one time wanted to change it to some other number, due to the unsavory overtones. (I-69, do you??)

Guess they want to extend it all the way to Mexico?

i69 starts in port huron, mi then goes to flint, lansing, (then past my house) down to ft wayne, and currently ends in indianapolis. the idea is that its supposed to eventually end up connecting with the proposed i69 in texas to be able to run a single highway from mexico to CA.

It shouldn't be in Texas, but there are other areas where the numbering scheme of the interstate highway system have been violated. For example, I-59 runs diagonally from I-24 just southwest of Chattanooga to I-20 in Birmingham, AL. Essentially, it runs between I-75 and I-65. It should have been called I-69.

the i69 signs get stolen all the time.
especially the mile marker 69 on i69- i pass it everyday on the way to work, it disappears a couple times a year.

But...but...I thought Gov Goodhair said it was dead. He wouldn’t lie to us, would he?

That’s what happens when RINOs get elected. They act just like liberals and smile while they apply the KY (not talking about Kentucky, either).
