Don’t know about that, but does anyone know what the fraud case is about?
What's next- Bob Ross barricaded and in a shootout with the cops?
Gotta watch these painters man, all the time. Never turn your back.
The "Painter of Light" could have a field day with something like this.
If it was possible for me to jump into a paintings, it would be one of his.
Kinkade is clearly a talented painter. But his art has always been rather boring to me, kind of like the generic winter neighborhood scene that always adorns the fronts of Christmas cards.
I don’t get what the “fraud” is about, though. Producing more prints than contracted appears to be a contract issue, not a fraud issue. And the other—about opening the two galleries—just doesn’t make much sense.
Personally, I’m looking forward to his Prison Cell series.
I love his paintings. Hopefully he will get the help with alcohol he needs. He can easily survive this. The embarassment won’t last. Just get up and deal with the consequences and get on with your life and NEVER make this mistake again.

People who pass themselves off as “Christians” while cynically exploiting people based on the belief that they are Christians, occupy a special place in Hell.
How sad.
For someone who has trademarked the term “painter of light,” he has no understanding of what real light looks like. The “light” in his paintings resembles nothing like actual sunlight. You look at any number of artists and illustrators, from Edward Hopper to N.C. Wyeth, and you instantly recognize what actual sunlight looks like. In Kinkade’s light you instantly recognize Burnt Ochre and Cadmium Yellow Number Two.
Will they revoke his artistic license?
I have no problem with his art. It’s a particular style, which will appeal to some people and not to others. Big deal.
But apart from this story and others that have been brought up about similar behavior, I used to date a woman who worked for a promotional firm that had him as one of their clients, and his behavior and attitude toward the firm sounded more in character with these various stories than with the Christian values he espouses (or maybe exploits?).
Kinkade was arrested and spent one night in jail. He was released the next day after posting bail.
There’s one lovely Kinkade print that was posted on FR a few years back - probably during the time he was being investigated for scamming investors.
I think it was called “Cthulhu and Lighthouse”
I’ve searched high and low for it but cannot find it.
To all those complaining on the thread......just buy his work in the form of puzzles. Works for me.
