Maybe I’m showing my ignorance here, but don’t Asians eat A LOT of white rice?

Do they show the same health problems?

Might something else be at work here? Or did I miss something?

Smaller portions, more veggies, lower body weight overall in Asia. That’s my guess.

They have a vastly different diet, in general. High in fish and veggies.

In Thailand, they consider brown rice animal feed. They'd never eat it themselves and they CERTAINLY would never serve it to their guests. It would be very insulting.

****"...don't Asians eat A LOT of white rice?"****

LOL, yeah, those white rice eating FATTY Asians are having an epidemic of Type II diabetes....... NOT.

There are some medical researchers looking into a direct connection between fructose consumption and the development of both obesity and Type II diabetes; white rice happens to be one of the few fructose-FREE foods.
