Just watched the sneak preview of AMC's upcoming series m hosted by Hulu. It's called 'Rubicon', and will premier on AMC on August 9th I believe. The Sneak Preview, is just shy of an hour long, and IMO, if it is indicative of the rest of the series, then AMC's got a winner on it's hands.

how ‘bout a clue?
AMC is putting up some pretty good stuff. Breaking Bad is the best series I’ve ever seen.
WOODROW WILSON.....EWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW
What kind of clue would you like? Wait i think I know what you mean: It’s a combination Spy/thriller/ assasination/ conspiracy/Bilderberg type plotline with a faint whiff of ‘Three Days of the Condor’ to it.
That was *my* reaction too! ;oD
After watching a few minutes.....it looks promising......

Dang. I thought it was going to be about Julius Caesar.
Or I guess they had two Illuminati type orgs and you had to try to figure out which was really the good one and which was really the bad one.
I imagine the "other" org will show up in the second or third year ... or the first if the ratings start to tank.
They did that one already. It was called Rome. It ran for three seasons and was excellent. I highly recommend it.
I don’t know if you ever saw “I, Claudius” with Derek Jacobi but it was excellent. Robert Graves’ books, on which it was based, are excellent as well. I saw the last season of Rome. I suppose I should go find the first two on the Internet or something.
Is that the BBC production from the late 70's early 80s? I think I did but it's literally been decades since I've seen it.
I understand that they're looking at remaking Cleopatra with Angelina Jolie in the title role. Considering her work in "Alexander" (which was a horrible three hours of my life I'll never get back), I won't be looking forward to Cleopatra.
Well for me, it’s something to look forward to, in between Burn Notice, Roayal Pains and this years season of Dexter.
Yes, it is the BBC "I, Claudius." My library had it on DVD and it was just fantastic. If it was made that long ago, it has held up very well.
With the possible exception of Russel Crowe, I can't think of a single a-list actor that could handle that part. As you say, they're all just too darn effeminate.
“God knows who’ll they’ll cast in the other rolls,”
I’d sure like to know what has been cast into my rolls before I eat them, LOL!
I was just thinking about the I Claudius series a few days ago and wishing PBS would replay it. Wonder why they haven’t. It isn’t the kind of series that goes out of date. Well, hopefully, one day, it will be re-run.
Yep, Woodrow Wilson = the white Obama!
The series starts out with the agency looking for secret messages in crossword puzzles.
There's a problem right there. If that's the premise then there already is agreement about some really crazy conspiratorial stuff going on.
So our hero -- in spite of efforts to discredit him -- really isn't that crazy by the standards of his own agency.
It doesn't look like it gets explained just who is encrypting messages in the crossword puzzles or who the clues are intended for.
The look of the show is alright though. There's some excitement and Miranda Richardson is in the cast, so it may be worth seeing. The preview reminded me of Damages transplanted into a spy setting.
Sorry, fingers faster than brain! ;) I’ll try to play my role better next time. Try your library, that’s where I got it.
