Right handed Red Sox 3rd baseman Adrian Beltre hit one out of Fenway Park Friday afternoon, striking Nutmeg squarely on the forearm. X-rays revealed a fractured radius. Nutmeg is in good spirits today.
Beltre, with a .335 average and 44 RBI in 2010, was unavailable for comment.

Glad to hear the worst is over and you're mending well. You can always get a tattoo over that scar...perhaps a red sock..... Thanks so much, FRiend!
A red sock tattoo? Yeesh, I wouldn't go that far... ;-)

Check this out, FRiends! Just saw this cartoon on
BostonDirtDogs.com, which is a Red Sox fan site. It's referring to Adrian Beltre as a "one-man wrecking ball" . (Beltre is the Red Sox third baseman who unintentionally hit a ball 400ft directly onto my left forearm during BP on 6/11/10.)
The Wrecking Ball
Our Not-So-Secret Weapon
This cartoon is in reference to Beltre's collision with outfielder Jacoby Ellsbury back in April which resulted in several broken ribs for Ellsbury. In June, Beltre also collided with another outfielder, Jeremy Hermida, and now Hermida is on the DL with broken ribs. Beltre is apparently indestructable.
Little does Beltre know (or maybe he does know) that on June 11th he broke yet another bone, although this time it belonged to little ole me, a spectator. Red Sox announcers Don Orsillo and Jerry Remy now joke when Beltre is chasing after a ball and gets close to another player: "Look out, get away from Adrian Beltre!" LOL

Adrian Beltre Sends Another Red Sox Outfielder to DL as Jeremy Hermida has Broken Ribs
Beltres going to take out the whole outfield, (Red Sox Manager) Terry Francona joked, though the similarities between the two injuries are uncanny..."

I would contend that he intended to hit the ball 400 ft. Your forearm was collateral damage..... ;)

I was too busy doubled over in pain to throw the ball back, LOL. I wouldn't throw it "back at him" (and I certainly can't throw 400ft anyway).
We have the ball and - with the help of our "Fenway Ambassador" - we hope to have Beltre sign it. No guarantees, however. Apparently it takes something like an Act of Congress...

An Act of Congress eh?
Well, compared to getting health care through , or to getting the Jones Act waived so foreign ships can help clean up the oil spill, or .......

You are famous, GF!
I suspect someone told Beltre about your mishap.
(IMO, he should have called to wish you well.)
