I think the north division just knows they can’t beat the teams in the southern division. So instead of compete, they just leave. Oh well.

That's not it, the Texas and Oklahoma teams were ready to bolt to the Pac 10. It's all about money. Because of their TV markets the Big Ten and Pac 10 have more lucrative TV deals. The Big 12 will cease to exist within two years or so.

Trivia question: anyone know what the longest running consecutive rivalry in college football is?

That's not it either. UT and A&M were trying to keep Nebraska in the Big 12. They said if Nebraska goes, the Big 12 is dead. Now the question is, will UT and A&M go west the Pac or east to the SEC? Stallings wants them in the SEC, but UT seems to be set on the Pac.
