There is the prison up in the Andes at 12,700 ft, no window, no hot water and concrete slabs for beds.
Life expectancy in the general prison population....one week give or take a day or two.
The prisons should be pretty empty by now, then ... I would say ... :-)
No, just long and slow torture until he fesses up about all the other women hes killed and sold into slavery.
I don't think the Peruvian authorities care too much about that. They're only concerned with closing the case on Stephany Flores, and they have reported that they have now practically closed the case on Flores, because of van der Sloot's remarkable cooperation and confession [those were their words ...].
And how did they do it? Well, they said that whenever van der Sloot wanted steak, they gave it to him. They said they fed him very well. Whenever he wanted cigarettes they gave him all he wanted. They basically killed him with kindness and got the biggest confession they could have wanted from him and "wrapped up the case" in a tidy little package with his complete confession.
I don't think those Peruvian authorities have any interest in jeopardizing their case, regarding Stephany Flores, for any other case which was outside their country.
No prison in Peru is a "Club Fed". The concept doesn't exist down there (mrs infowarrior is a Peruvian, so I've traveled there quite a bit). No matter where he ends up, Van der Snooty is in deep "Dutch" at present...
the infowarrior
His pull date on this planet has been moved up.... I do hope its horrifying, with full recognition that hes being murdered, slow and painful.
Ummmm... the max that the Peruvians will give van der Sloot is 35 years. It's also possible that he could get as little as five years. Perhaps five years is not likely, but it's possible in light of the Peruvian penalty under law.
Take a look at Post #10 ...
See the ‘welcoming committee’ in post 25...
That's actually the prison soccer team setting up their wall for a free kick.
I know, but I doubt very much that this punk will last in that prison.
Not the overall life expectancy just Jorans.
Ahhh... :-)
I don't know... he might be a tough character anyway... I'm just saying that because he's a big guy as it is... being 6-3, and the police said he was an extraordinarily violent person and that he didn't seem to be in control of that violence.
Knowing how prisons are, that's the kind of guy who might be able to "hold his own" in those situations ... big, violent (and seemingly used to violence), and loses control and gets violent a lot. That sounds like the kinds of characters that are in prison. He also might have a "size advantage" on the tyical prison occupant, given the size of the people in that country.
But, I don't think that prison is a very safe place anyway, so it's a crap-shoot any way you look at it.
I know, but I doubt very much that this punk will last in that prison.
Yeah, I hear that, but people do last in prison and the ones that do are the "criminal types"... because that's their perfect environment to survive in. They love it.
I'm thinking that Joran van der Sloot is exactly that kind of criminal type and may be able to gather some compatriots around here, some allies and actually he might end up doing "business" in prison anyway -- because of outside connections and also family money.
I'm just saying that a "criminal type" and someone who is big (he's 6-3), plus someone who is extraordinarily violent anyway (which he is) -- may end up doing quite well there.
He might be "right in his own element" in that prison.
No, he’s trying to get extradited back to Aruba. He is saying he knows where Natalie’s body is, but will only tell Dutch authorities.
Good link. Don’t remember that case - but NatGeo’s documentary is frightening.
Reflecting on JVDS’ travelling throughout the world’s drug producing countries - speculations about his being in a drug cartel may very well be correct. It seems credible that he seduced young women to become mules and if they resisted - threatened or trafficked them. All crime - all the time.
*Going Dutch* really does mean THE WOMAN PAYS!!!
According to one person interviewed, you can have anyone killed in a Peru prison for $50 to $100 dollars. I would think Senor Flores will make the investment.
We all know what the coward can do to women. I'm wondering how well he can hold his own against a man? We'll see :)
That photo is fomr the Locked Up Abroad episode featuring Peru. The white male shown was wrongfully imprisoned on cocaine smuggling charges and sent to Lurigancho for a relatively short period of time. His female friend was guilty of smuggling, however, she had told this male nothing of her plot, and she pretty much ruined his life.
They work pretty cheap down there.... you can do the same thing here in the U.S., too ... but it just costs a little bit more ...
What you say is always a possibility, especially within American prisons.
Location, location, location. ;>) I strongly suspect that his location will be a major factor in how this all turns out.
I wish him the worst and it shouldn’t take too long to see who guessed right. ;>)
