The white-owned farms have reported a surge in violent attacks against them by President Robert Mugabe's loyal supporters within the past week, which saw at least 16 farming lands raided.
Since Zimbabwe President Robert Mugabe ordered white-owned farm owners to transfer majority of their land to blacks in 2008, violence among Caucasian farmers has soared. Similar legislation was approved in February whereby white-owned companies must transfer majority of shares to black Zimbabweans because it would benefit those racially discriminated.
According to the Associated Press, white farmers have reported an increase in violence against them within the past week. They say that ardent supporters of President Robert Mugabe have attempted to seize more land. The Commercial Farmers Union (CFU), which represents approximately 300 white farmers, has reported that many crops and equipment have been stolen, while a black farm foreman was severely beaten in the same district where a farmer’s wife was fenced into her farmhouse and was forced to leave within four hours.
The union’s leader and Vice Press, Charles Taffs, said on Wednesday during a news conference that the incidents occurred on Tuesday and that the local authorities have not responded to telephone calls or filed reports. The local police have not commented on the alleged violence. “The Commercial Farmers Union is gravely concerned with the recent harassment of productive farms and the failure of the police to render assistance in spite of high court orders for farmers to remain in occupation,” said Taffs, reports AFP. “We are concerned that a time Zimbabwe wishes to re-engage with the international community and encourage investment that these breaches of the rule law will drive Zimbabwe into further isolation.”
The union Vice President added that the government is not protecting their rights and that the union urges the government to take action because agriculture production, the country’s former world-leading export, “is on the verge of collapse.”
Reuters Africa reports that wheat output has declined to a record-low 10,000 tons for the year 2010, which is primarily due to land seizures, violence and lack of funding.
Hell, they’ve been doing that for years.
Get out and Get out now! They have to know what is coming and the longer they stay the hard it is going to be to feel sorry for them. Same thing for white South Africans, you need to be thinking about getting out NOW!
There comes a point where being attacked is your own d@mn fault: warning has been given for many years that it would happen, so either be prepared to win the encounter or be gone already. Yeah it’s your property and your rights and all, but realize that dead is for a very long time and being white in Zimbabwe will get you there quickly.
I can’t fathom why any white Rhodesians would still be there. It will end very very badly for whoever is left.

At this point, it should be pretty obvious to white people that the time to get out was yesterday. Seriously, why would any white person still remain in Zimbabwe?
Really, there is probably no long term safe place for whites anywhere in Africa. South Africa will be the new Zimbabwe in a few years.

There are still “white owned farms” in Zimbabwe???
White farm-owners will have their land stolen, without a doubt. Can they avoid the voilence though?
And shortly after the last one is gone, the Zimbabwe Gov’t, Mugabe’s cronies, or whoever owns the land at that point, will want to make some money, and will welcome these same white farmers back as contract farm-managers.
South Africa is different. It is home to the White Tribe of Africa aka Afrikaners. They’ve been there for nearly 350 years and they’ve circled their wagons before and they’ll do that once again if necessary.
I spent a couple of months in Zimbabwe in 1985. The white Rhodies even then, a quarter century ago, were trying to liquidate their assets. Some went as far as Australia, others to nearby South Africa, and the majority went back to Europe (UK or Ireland). I shudder to think what’s happened to those that thought they could outlast Mugabe’s madness. Rather like those Jews who believed that the Nazis would eventually see the error of their ways and leave them alone.
