Maybe he framed himself. Yes, and a good job, too.
Here's two weeks' advance rent on my room. I'm headed south. Don't disturb my girl before I reach Cape Horn, at the earliest.

Perhaps his life is in danger. And the problem with that is ... what?

So should he be released to spend the rest of his life searching golf courses for the real killer?
To: cynwoody
I like that. No wonder Joran was an epic fail this time. His daddy is no longer around to clean up after him.

No. He should not be released. There is no rush. This case is made all too simple. I've learned that when it is too easy to solve that there is usually more than meets the eye.
The problem for Joran is that he is not in Kansas anymore. Poor Joran.

If the dress don’t fit, you must acquit.
Seriously, are you saying there is no dead girl?
There is a dead girl but after she died, they realized he was in town and someone decided to take this guy down?
Or the third and most troubling possibility, the girl was murdered for the purpose of framing this guy. The last option is the essence of conspiracy theory darkness. It presumes a very heartless universe with a dearth of people with moral character or the least trace of conscience.
I have lived a number of years seeing the best and worst of people. One sick SOB that finally got caught is much more believable that a number of officials in a country far from the his home colluding to frame him for murder. If there were people in such positions, it would be easier and less risky to grab the guy on the streets, take him to the jungle, cap him and burn the body.
The conspiracy theory that makes sense is that this kid is a monster that was protected by a powerful daddy.
