Why should we care if a green energy spells doom for certain insects? It matters since the bugs are a key part of an important food chain, say scientists. Solar panels might be a cornerstone of green energy, but new research shows that they may have a dark side: the panels are a mesmerizing, lethal attraction to certain aquatic insects, drawing them to the panels' surface and trapping them there until they die.

I always laugh when these good intention greenies cause more harm, then good.
Wind power kills birds and bats too.

It is official, no matter what humanity does, humanity is bad for the planet. Only organisms that can’t out-compete other organisms should survive.

Geez, it is always something. I guess we should all just swelter in darkness and filth. Seems to be what they want.

If they can invent solar cells that also kill mosquitos, they’d have a two-fer in green living. This bug zapper will power your home!

And hydraulic power effs up salmon spawning runs. Nuke power makes them grow three eyes and teats. These root-eating dirt worshipers are all Planned Parenthood/Hemlock Society closet cases.

"But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: for men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away, for his name is Obama."

So while the caribou love and thrive with the evil oil pipeline, windmills kill huge numbers of birds and solar panels are killing insects.
Who are the real environmentalists and who are the killers?

Man kills.... wow.
I have a Solar electric system on my Airstream trailer. I don’t know how I will be able to live with the knowledge of such pure horror.
I wonder what my ‘Bug Footprint” will be. Can I get Bug Credits to ease my feelings of guilt?
Hey Al.... cheer up.... there’s more money to be made.

Since there will be fewer birds and bats because on wind energy we will need fewer bugs for them to eat.

Way at the bottom of the article, she reveals that the problem, if it is a problem, already has a known, easy fix:
The good news from Robertson's study is that the lure of solar panels was dramatically reduced when white borders or grids of white strips crisscrossed the panels, dividing the panel into smaller segments. This reduced the attractiveness by 10 to 26-fold, the study found, effectively eliminating the effect. "Many solar panels are already designed this way," Robertson said.
