TOWN OF BOSTON, NY ( WKBW ) She survived Hurricane Katrina and a pit bull attack, and now her tale of perseverance is inspiring others. Her name is Molly and she's a pony with a prosthetic leg. Molly is just one of the many animals and people left homeless by Hurricane Katrina. Molly was rescued, but shortly after she was adopted into a new home a pit bull attacked her, leaving one of Molly's front legs so badly injured it was nearly a death sentence for her.
Molly's new owner, Kaye Harris, couldn't bear the thought of putting down the pony and so she decided to fight for her. Harris convinced a veterinarian to amputate the bad leg even though amputations are rare for ponies, and Harris worked with a prosthesis designer to get Molly fitted with a custom-built artificial leg. It was a success and Molly did so well with her recovery and adapting to the prosthesis that Harris began to wonder if Molly was capable of more. "I said, 'Molly, what are we going to do now?' because I believe that everybody should exchange and give back, and so I got the answer from her that we were going to go meet people at Children's hospital," explains Harris. They started with a hospital near home in Louisiana.

I had a pony just exactly like that. “Lucky” was a great horse but kind of slow.
That pony has some bad luck.
“Pig like that, you don’t eat him all at once!”

Wow Chet.
They should find the tens of thousands of children (still alive that is) that you’ve reported on how they’ve been mauled by put bulls.
Bring them all to see this pony.
That might just bring a smile to their scarred little faces.
Great pony! Thanks for posting! I have 5 horses at my place, and each one inspires me daily to be a better person.
