Small turtles grow into large turtles. We have only terrestrial reptiles.

We’re on the same page. Alpha-female Michelle is gardening in the toxic WH dirt. Lead, wasn’t it?

Bush is playing in the safe Texas dirt.

When you cook fennel with olive oil in the oven, does it mute the strong anise taste?

I’m about to go out and do some weeding right now in a pair of shorts and a pink t-shirt of my daughter’s (she only 4-5 inches shorter than me at age 12). Yesterday I did some weeding out in the front flower beds wearing a sundress that I bought at a thrift store for $4.

This is our first year of gardening. We built a raised bed in our backyard since we live on a corner lot in the booming metropolis of Fort Smith, LOL. We have tomatoes, cherry tomatoes, onions, jalapenos, cantaloupe, and cucumbers out there. The tomato plants are taller than my daughter who turns six next week :) The onions are enormous, there are at least 4 cucumbers that I can see, and we have a healthy amount of jalapenos spread out over four plants.

I’ve got to go pull the weeds out and work those tomato plants back into the cages. I’m taking the two youngest out there to run around. My two oldest are in Indiana with their grandparents for a month! It’s a lot quieter around here :( Never mind—got 27 first-graders to herd next week in VBS! LOL I’m beginning to think the DRE doesn’t like me or something :)

This freaking White House is like Sesame Street, where "the people in your neighborhood" walk around all the time in their work clothes.

I guess chefs always have to be on duty, in case something suddenly needs flamabying.

You've inspired me. I'm going to have another cup of coffee, change into a pair of white capris and a long sleeved t-shirt, and get back out there, even though I am really stiff from yesterday.

One thing I have to do today is replant some of the flowers on the deck. My dogs keep trying to eat the verbena, and in doing so, they keep pulling the entire plant(s) out of the containers. I'm going to have to move them.

My tomatoes look great after all the heat, sun, and rain we've gotten recently. I ordered more tomato cages, which arrived Friday. I'm very impressed with the quality. They should last for years.

I have butchered another lugustrum; now my Tom is digging the root out. Bwhahahahahaha! The catz and I planted more cilantro earlier, too. (Shorts, pink t-shirt. Same as yesterday, but they’ve been through the wash.)

Glad I could help! :)

It’s going to be in the mid-90s today, so I thought I would get it done and over with...it’s done! I pulled a few in the garden yesterday so it wasn’t as bad today. I worked the tomatoes the best I could. I wish I had a dollar for every tomato I saw out there! I also discovered a couple more cucumbers! I think the onions don’t have much longer. I need to do some research on when to dig them up because they are monster looking. I’m looking forward to making salsa when it’s all said and done. Whatever we don’t use or can, I’m taking over to the food bank—they’ve been asking for fresh produce from gardens.

By the time I was done outside, both me and the little guy (almost 3) were sweating pretty well. He gratefully accepted a cold cup of apple juice and some animal crackers, LOL.

Unfortunately, I need to haul a few things out to the shed, and it’s not getting any cooler out there! I have to go out and vote in the run-off elections today for state senate and the 3rd Congressional district.

It's starting to sprinkle here, so I came in. It's so dark I had to turn the lights in the kitchen on.

Apple juice and animal crackers. :) That really takes me back.

I hope she doesn’t think we are falling for ‘her gardening’ because most are not. She can’t stop partying long enough to tend a garden plus the fact that if you are really gardening you sure as hell don’t dress like that.

One can only conclude it’s another lecture and PHOTO OP!
