This has been drving me crazy all day. I saw the movie "Believe in Me" and this was one of the songs on the soundtrack! It's a late 50's or early 60's tune.

If you don’t recognize that, it’s an obscure Al Bundy Reference.

Doesn’t that say so much about the value of a soundtrack to a movie. It amazes me how often they are so bad in modern movies.

It sounds like a Booker T and MG's, song. Their big hit was "Green Onions", minor hit was "Rinky Dink". I do recall the song, but cannot quite place it. I believe that their is a word or phrase, used as a bridge. That word or phrase is the title of the song.

I’m not the one who originally found it, but I was able to find it using Shazam on my iPhone, which analyzes a song it “hears” on the microphone and spits out the song title and artist. I’m a little surprised it picked up “Last Night” by the Mar-Keys despite the dialogue, but it did. :-)

How in the world did you find it!!! I went to the I-tunes store and searched "Booker T and the MG's". That did not pan out.
But they have a list of "if you like this, you might also like this". On that list was a CD "Best Instrumentals of the 60's" (or something similar to that). The song was on that CD.
I hate it when you have something on the tip of your tongue and just can't finish it or think of it.
